Super helpful video! When I pirouette on my left leg/foot I always get to about 180 degrees before my left foot wants to just stop being on relevé. Is there a way to remedy this? (If a visual helps, I pretty much hop on my left leg/foot for the rest of the pirouette or I'll kind of hop off the floor for the rest of the turn)
@marykrause20976 жыл бұрын
I think either your ankles/calves aren’t strong enough to continue holding you up on releve (which can be solved with strengthening exercises), or your center of balance is off (like, your axis isn’t completely vertical - concentrate on engaging your core, that helps me). Good luck!!
@MsKayAlicia6 жыл бұрын
Mary Krause thank you so much!!!!!
@TheRonnieaj6 жыл бұрын
I have the same problem. My right leg doesn’t even want to be on relevé. For me, the issue *was* my calves, as another commenter said. Once I started stretching my calves, hammies, quads and glutes before class, I got much better. It also helped to do some calf raises, just going up and down, to warm up the ankle. I do 2 sets on the weak side and 1 on the strong to get them more equal. Good luck!

Hi Claudia - the best in your video is when you speak about holding the hips parallel and building up the right schulderposition. As much as the girl can’t hold a turnout in passe - she shout exercise this position in the center on flat feet (!!!). Not too great is the stopping in the preparation. Much better is understanding the coordination of the 2 legs (short way to releve - long way to passe) with finishing at the same time. Do it also in 5 Position and let the standing leg „slip“ under the axe (it is called a „wskok“) and it is especially helpful when you have all kind of pirouettes on point…. Greetings Hans

Love you Claudia! You are so wonderful. I love your happy, positive attitude. I'm not a fan of the theraband one - due to pressure on knee caps and somewhat of a "hog-tied" effect that might not be advantageous should the dancer fall.
