I looked up and elaborated the derivation myself with Atkins at first but having it all together in a compact ten minutes video is very helpful, thank you!

Sir u are amazing. Thanks a lot... Could u pls explain Gibbs duhem equation?
@PhysicalChemistry4 жыл бұрын
I'll record a video on the Gibbs-Duhem soon. But it won't make sense until after the ones on partial molar quantities, and chemical potential... so it won't be for a few weeks from now. In the meantime, I think this one is pretty good: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n2PclKOvmNuHobM

Why is - before entalphy? because this is evaporation l-g and this is endotermic isnt it and endotermic is always greater than zero so i dont really understand
@PhysicalChemistry Жыл бұрын
You're right that the enthalpy of vaporization is positive. The negative sign is just a part of the equation, and doesn't mean that the enthalpy must be negative. If it bothers you, move it to the other side of the equation. Or use it to swap the temperatures, etc

How this diagram will be different for hydrocarbons?
@PhysicalChemistry2 жыл бұрын
Qualitatively, the L/G coexistence curve is no different for hydrocarbons. The slopes of the curve will differ for different fluids, because the enthalpy of vaporization will have a different value. But the general shape is the same
