White CIS male from Germany here, one of my favorite Rock songs of that time, problematic is it just when people dont understand the text, and just hear the N word, from the left i got anger and from the right i got a thumbs up, problem is for me, i wanted it the other way! Anyway, even without the text, awesome song, love the riffs aso.

As a young black American man who has parents that grew up in the Jim Crow era, when I saw the title of this song and the band that was singing this song, I thought I was going to be incredibly offended, but I'm not. Though the word in question is the title of the song, this song wholeheartedly *_denounces_* that word. And if you didn't pick up on that, then you clearly did not take time to listen to the lyrics.
@HellbirdIV
@HellbirdIV 2 ай бұрын
I wouldn't say it denonuces the _word_ itself - the point, after all, is that it _is_ just a word, and it can't hurt you, which is why they go out of their way to use and overuse it. It's like a Boondocks joke, using the word to deprive it of its inherent toxicity. It builds up an immunity, if you like. The lyrics are on the other hand _very_ clear that the song is unquestionably anti-racist and anti-white supremacist. _"There ain't such thing called superior race - and there aint' nothin' special 'bout the color of your face."_ Anybody who misses that because of the word "nigga" being repeated, well... kind of proving the need for this song.

Yes I agree with you on lyriks and titel of the song. In my young dayes when this song came, I was everything most people dont like. Racist, antisemit perhaps even nazi .( not nazi for sure) but i saw this song like the words of god. ( my english was very bad so only consentre on the word nigger. But I grew older and listen again with lyriks and this time it make good sence for me. We are all one❤. Together we stay strong and will not fall to tyranni

Hey folks, pay no attention to this Axel Vargas clown. I punked that dude a couple years ago. I was at the bar with my buddies when this bozo showed up acting like he owned the place. We ignored him until he came to our table talking about how he was going to “whoop on everyone” for not giving him respect. Him 5’6 120 lbs. and me 6’5 200 lbs. I put him in his place very quickly. I’m just glad the guy who took a video immediately deleted it so my boss wouldn’t possibly see it and fire me.

I´ve first listened to this song in 1993 when i was 12 years old and i was mind blown. I´ve always admired clawfinger to put a powerful song like this one out turning into an anti-racism anthem. At the time, i was studiyng at a catholic school and had a few black friends because most students were white, so i bought the cd, and played it loud at the school radio, so i could teach some racists we knew a lesson. The priests in shock with the heavy metal and with the lyrics forced us to shut down the event, but the message and the intention came through. haha good old times!

There is no context where singing the n word 50 times in a row is acceptable. That’s like me verbally abusing you for a few minutes, calling you names and insulting you, but after that I tag it with “bro but I love and care about you this was all a test to see if you would listen to me, peace”. It doesn’t negate what I said previously. Words matter, and words hurt.
