Nice job Justin mate great vid !!! Hey I tell you what which I know sound terrible but it bloody works I tell you ! Last Christmas we were up against it doing a driveway and it was to wet for kiln dried so I thought I’d go with the elements and we literally wet the sand into a slurry brushed it in then quickly whacked it ! So yes we effectively watered it in ha ! I drive by in all the time and it’s perfect! And we got payed on time !! Weird concept as we are always taught to avoid water a kiln dried but as you know wen it wet it runs everywhere so why can’t it go round down to the bottom of the pavers 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

@@brickrightbuildinglandscaping and merry Christmas to you sir ! We honestly just thought some sand in the joints is better than none so the customer could get on the drive but we filled them all up ( bit harder to brush off perfectly admittedly) but if you think about we ideally just want the sand to get to the bottom and fill up and it gets rained on all the time sooooo🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ anyways it get us out of sticking situations now when the job needs finishing and absolutely ZERO problem!! Cheers Justin mate have a good one 👍🏻👍🏻

Great job lads, looks smart. Out of interest, is it always 5mm you allow for compaction of pavers, as in do you initially lay them 5mm higher than Aco drains and edging pavers, which when compacted will be flush level?
@brickrightbuildinglandscaping3 жыл бұрын
Good question. I aim to leave the paving at least 5 mm higher than the aco drains. This allows the water to drain into the aco easier. I find if its level you can get a surplus of water .The other end so pavement end my aim.is to get that level. The paving never compacts by much because the base layers have already been compacted. Hope that helps you. Justin 👍

most of time its better to cut outer edge of boarding, especialy near walls, stairs, higher boarding, entrance and driveway, it does look better when required cut is not exceeding half of a brick (it`s rather easy pre-cut measuring too), and patern inside edging looks better without cuts. Sometimes it's a good idea to change paving patern completely after mesurements are taken. That`s my experience

Justin just a quick tip mate, when you are laying 90 degree put a string line straight up the middle and always use this to lead, basically doing an inverted v. You can get 2 people laying and more importantly you can lay with both hands and get lots of blocks down before moving. The way u are snaking up and down like that will kill you 😂 keep it up mate, I would prob invest in little tipper mate also for brad to drive, easily pay for itself as you must have much downtime waiting for materials etc these days . If it saves you average one day a week which I expect it will just think of that over a year 👍
@brickrightbuildinglandscaping3 жыл бұрын
I like the sound of that inverted v idea but do you ever have trouble with it all fitting at the end of the v .my way its fool prooff it all fits be interested to give it a go and thanks for sharing appreciate it mate. As for the tipper something to think about . Cheers cushdy merry Christmas 🎅
@cushdy10003 жыл бұрын
Yeah you might get a half cut doing it that way if everything dead square from the house but most aint !! Tbf I lay 45 degrees on all mine, that way I can keep it level all the way across the drive and you can lay 20/30 bricks without moving . Just overlay the edges and cut the border in rather than cutting individually. Saves hours mate. Keep it up u boys seem to get along great fp 👍 merry Xmas

Hi Justin, if I get chance I’ll give you a ring in the new year I’m only down the road in Chepstow. I used to lay that way mate and it’s takes to long and you are constantly moving it’s a nightmare 😂 1st one in new year is Tobermore Shannon duo so that’s just straight lines, the next time I do a standard pavior I’ll try and remember to send you a video. Like I said we always do 45, just prefer it to 90 but we can bang it down so much quicker anything under 100m2 gets laid and cut in in a day with 4 of us. Kills you but we make sure easy dig out the next day 😂 you can’t do that training lads up so fair play to you they seem 2 good lads. Also, and this is a must, get the probst block carrier mate it’s the best bit of money we have spent in 15 years . Not sure cost new but keep an eye on eBay might pick 2nd hand one up. Have good Xmas 👍
