Clay Sculpting a Devil Fruit from One Piece

Have you ever wanted to own a Devil Fruit? What about have a superhuman ability? This build video definitely won't give you either of those, but I can show you how to make a fun replica of a Devil Fruit using polymer clay. For this build I used: Sculpey polymer clay, oven bake adhesive, metal wire, foil, Mod Podge spray-on sealer, super glue, spray paint, and some acrylic paints. You may also need the following tools: a Dremel with various bits, heat gun, and Exacto knife or box cutter. Is it weird that I actually thought of the box before I built the prop. Don't get me wrong, the devil fruit is cool, but I'm actually more excited about building the container. I am working on the box this week, and it should be pretty epic.

Thanks. I've done it with baby powder, EVA foam, wood, and PVC, so I figured it would it would work in the same way. I like that it repurposes something that would be discarded.

🤗 it's fun switching mediums from project to project as it forces you to refine different skill sets and see what transfers. Even within types of clays, the variations in skills and techniques are high. I try to be a jack-of-all understanding I will never be a master of any. That drive to get better at all of them is my favorite part of making.

Ive never seen anyone use the sculpey scrapings with a superglue mix..looks like u had fun ! Thanks for sharing !

It was definitely fun. I think super glue with most powder like substances works well. I have done similar patch work with PVC, EVA, wood, and baby powder, getting similar results

With a build like this, the box is kind of a must. The box is only on screen for a few seconds, but I am definitely going to draw inspiration from it. I love the split top opening and what looks like static grass on the inside (or at least that will be my approach). A big fist bump from a small town in Texas 👊

Thanks. This year was the first time in over 20 years that I didn't have to cook anything. I definitely got my fill and enjoyed the lack of having to work. Now Christmas, I'm sure, will not be this way.

Hi, if I use air dry and I don't have to bake, I don't need sculpy adhesive true?

I am not sure about that. As long as you are doing it all in one go, it should be fine, but if you wait for the sphere to harden and then put on the swirls, it probably won't adhear.
