Another incredible build, Thomas. I just love your creativity and your passion for your craft. And the Wonka bar was a perfect addition. And now I have another cool template to add to my toolbox. I too, have an odd sized head and it's difficult to find off the shelf hats to fit me well. Now I can just make my own! Thank you for sharing with us!

That's what I was going to say! I'm going to need to remember this for the next time I need texture.
@MuchProps11 ай бұрын
Thanks. You could probably get finer texture with a better brush and hit it up a little closer to it, starting to set. I just did it on my initial pass. Might have to do some experiments.

SKS Props' channel has a video from a while ago that includes a template, too. His has some feather/skull/voodoo sort of designs that you might be able to use with this one.

I thought about that as I was building this. I may cut one that i have in half 😄
@Darkeklaw11 ай бұрын
You could easily convert this pattern to a leather top hat pattern by doing stitching holes instead of glue. Although it might change the width of the brim by 1/8 inch. It will also probably have a cross-stitch up the back :D you'd also have to make the extra brim leather a bit larger so it could fold over since you would need to add a wire to shape the brim. The possibilities are ENDLESS...
@MuchProps11 ай бұрын
If I ever decide to try that out, I definitely know whose brain I can pick. Have you done a top hat yet in your leather working adventures.
@MrNu198211 ай бұрын
While watching this I thought what if you took the rotary tool "crumbs" or "shavings" use spray adhesive and "faux" flock the hat to give that Velvet like texture with the way you use the Dremel I know that that would be fairly ready to collect lol but it could work if you are crazy enough to try that is tedious yes worth it maybe next level thinking definitely lol anyway love the movie love the build great work as always
@MuchProps11 ай бұрын
That would make for an interesting dabble. I would be curious how the glued on dust would take paint. It may be one of those things that you would want the foam to be the finish color. Might have to try that out at some point.
@MrNu198211 ай бұрын
Well I would venture to say/guess after the spray does it's thing mod podge it as a clear coat since it doesn't thicken when it dries which would allow the faux texture to remain because plati-dip would dry thick killing the texturization a few mod coats probably would allow painting to be applicable , I know if you had kept the dust from all the projects you had finished you might have had enough to make a whole "teddy bear " suit lol you should contact all your fellow tuner and have them send you their dust lol jk . Man to do a pokemon this way would make it look realistic hmm a life sized Pikachu with "fur" that would be insane looking (milestone KZbin sub build ideas bam) Everytime I watch your videos I get inspired 👍💯
