Not long after my father was murdered, my mom and I were driving to my Aunt's house, it was pouring and I mean pouring down rain, we had a flat on the highway. I remember a cowboy who pulled up behind us, got out of his pick-up with his white stetson hat and rain drenching him. He got the trunk opened, placed his new hat on the ground and changed our tire. I remember him placing his hat on his head, no longer white and dripping rain water down. He tipped the hat at us, got back in his truck and drove off, leaving us behind---no longer stranded. I have never forgotten what he did for us that day, he was a hero, just wish I had known who he was.

I do that a lot... One thay i curiosly changed two tires on the same spot at the same time.... 2 ladies stranded at night.. And i've seen a lot of car accidents on the road and 3 of them upside-down cars and got the people out of there including kids before police.. Ambulance and firefighters get there... And i always end up with scratches and small pieces of glass all over my body.. But so proud that i could help... Withou3 thinking of a car explosion or me being harm sonehow. It just feel sooo good to help🤠

I cannot but make a comment how true this song has been in my own life. Farming by myself in the early 80's. A friend of mine always helped me move a tractor or truck from one field to the next and I felt I could never pay him back, I felt so bad but he never needed help! Fast foward 10 years and I find myself in a position to help another close friend after he lost his dad. As he went oversees to attend the funeral and be with his family, I told him not to worry, I would look after putting in his crop for him. I remember his wife coming from the house as I was fueling up the tractor, tears running down her face, wondering how they could ever pay me back. That realy hit home! Fast forward to July 15 2000. After a short but very fierce battle with Cancer and witnessing my late wife seeing a "Beautiful Mansion" about 10 hours befoe Jesus called her home and then raising two girls for 5 years by myself I found myself getting married once again, and couldnt help but choose this song at our wedding.

The song " The Little Girl " by John Michael Montgomery is one that chokes me up. Especially the line where she is in the church and sees Jesus on the cross for the first time. Back when songs told stories about respect and courtesy. If you were to right a song about this situation today it would end in the first line, some millennial idiot would kill the old lady because they were texting and speeding. Of course the media would say it was an accident. Oh well so glad I spent my younger days listening to great music like this. It taught me values
