New Album TEXAS TO TENNESSEE out now! 🌵 orcd.co/texastotennessee "The Chain of Love" by Clay Walker. Spotify: bit.ly/ClayChain iTunes: bit.ly/CWChain Connect with Clay: Instagram.com/OfficialClayWalker Facebook.com/OfficialClayWalker Twitter.com/ClayWalker Songwriters: Rory Feek / Jonnie Barnett LYRICS: He was driving home one evening, In his beat up Pontiac When an old lady flagged him down, Her Mercedes had a flat He could see that she was frightened, Standing out there in the snow 'Til he said I'm here to help you ma'am, By the way my name is Joe She said I'm from St. Louis, And I'm only passing through I must have seen a hundred cars go by, This is awful nice of you When he changed the tire, And closed her trunk And was about to drive away, She said how much do I owe you Here's what he had to say You don't owe me a thing, I've been there too Someone once helped me out, Just the way I'm helping you If you really want to pay me back, Here's what you do Don't let the chain of love end with you Well a few miles down the road, The lady saw a small cafe She went in to grab a bite to eat, And then be on her way But she couldn't help but notice, How the waitress smiled so sweet And how she must've been eight months along, And dead on her feet And though she didn't know her story, And she probably never will When the waitress went to get her change, From a hundred dollar bill The lady slipped right out the door, And on a napkin left a note There were tears in the waitress's eyes, When she read what she wrote You don't owe me a thing, I've been there too Someone once helped me out, Just the way I'm helping you If you really want to pay me back, Here's what you do Don't let the chain of love end with you That night when she got home from work, The waitress climbed into bed She was thinkin' about the money, And what the lady's note had said As her husband lay there sleeping, She whispered soft and low "Everything's gonna be alright I love you, Joe" #ClayWalker #TheChainOfLove #CountryMusic #Official #Country

i know now what i did not know then. rory feek was handed lemons in his life his first wife left him with confused daughters one married in the tradition of a normal standard and that became broken. hopi came out as a same sex relationship. she married as the female side of the house and her partner was a lady band member and dressed up in suit and tie as the male half of the marriage. the wedding happened on the joey and rory feek farm and homestead in Tennessee. rumor has it that marriage was hitting a rocky road ice cream. joey and rory married and they were so in love they had a baby that they named indie (joey birth state indiana or Indianapolis home of the memorial day weekend 500 miles on the race track.) joey was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. she started chemo after indies birth. indie is a changed child with an extra chromosome and we call that challenge downs syndrome. indie was by joey's side as joey lost her long dark hair. joey was born in indiana had a baby with Rory and god's help along the way. god took joey's breath away. more later maybe. rip joey in that pine box buried in the feek homestead. rory your love for wife children and life in general your faith in god shows. indie needs you to keep her safe in this mad mad crazy world. you have it in your heart and soul. it is not easy for a weaker man and you do the best you can with what he has available. you have a homesteading school in summer. you drive the school bus to take indie to the one room school house that he help build on the homestead for indie and a community of other children from all around. you wrote and filmed with joey and the girls about a true story a josephine who dressed as a civil war gi joe looking for her husband who was captured during that not so civil north and south civil war.

I was a very quiet boy growing up. Whenever I listened to music I always thought about the meaning of the lyrics and what the artist was trying to convey to the listener. This song released when I was 7 years old. I thought about it frequently growing up and still do to this day. I've found myself stopping in the middle of the night dog tired on my way home to help a man who's truck threw a wheel, given my last $20 to a man down on his luck when I have my three kids to take care of, helping a lady push her car 3 blocks to a gas station and then paying for a full tank of gas when I found out all the money she had was the $5 she was going to put in. I'm not a rich man, but this song cut so deeply into my soul as a child that when I see someone genuinely in a tough spot I put all my problems away and try to be their angel in that moment. So thank you Clay Walker for singing this song, and thank you Jonnie Barnett and Rory Feek for composing this song, which became a cornerstone in molding a young boy into the man I am today.

Well, I got a voicemail from Little Joe from Montana this week, who asked me if I remembered him changing my flat tire years ago on my way to Butte. Of course I remembered and returned his call. He asked if I had seen this music video with so many similarities. I googled it and loved it. It was a snowy day, so no wonder people kept right on going, but thankfully Joe stopped to help me. I was on my phone to my husband who was explaining where the spare tire was in the back of my van and how to change it when Joe stopped. There was no restaurant and I never have a hundred dollar bill, but I am happy to say that my husband has changed many a flat tire for others before and after this incident. So, the Chain of Love has not ended. Thankfully, there are still many Good Samaritans out there. Thanks again, Little Joe!

You got a call 6 months ago about a song released in 1999 that's about you? Sure Wally... What other songs are about you? "She's only lies when she speaks", "Truth be told, she's never told it", or my personal favorite "She's a compulsive liar who's never had a flat tire, except the one around her waist"...

song always reminds me of something that happened to mom when I was younger... kid brother is a cancer survivor but he was only a lil lad barely able to talk and convey simple stories... really loved Blues Clues at that age. Anywho... Mom was approached randomly in the store one day by a man who saw lil bro pining over an expensive toy. Guy bought it for him outright, and insisted on giving mom money to help her... "so shines a good deed...in a weary world..."

I have to agree!! My favorite part of the song. Is the line everything’s going to be all right I Love You Joe, gets me too!! We all need to hear those three words from loved ones and friends.” It makes my day when a friend or a sibling says I Love You It makes my day. It means everything to me we all need to know we are loved.” Love never fails! I Love You!! 🫶🏻🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

I remember hearing this song as a preteen and even at the tender age of 11 or 12 understanding, loving, appreciating the beautiful message and vowing to never let the chain of love end with me. Thank you for singing and sending such a beautiful message Mr.@Clay Walker! I will spend the rest of my life never letting the Chain Of Love End With Me

Never listen to this but I got goosebumps all over. This is the way it should be, the way it used to. I'll keep saying More Love and Less Hate would make this country so much better for live in 😮😊
