Just shy of 11 weeks no contact, my ex blocked me on Facebook on Saturday then Instagram today. I really have no idea why she has taken this step. Our break up was that of heart break on both sides due to her past and her controlling family. I feel hope is slipping away for her to come back and I'm not ashamed to say I have been in tears most days since we broke up. But with trying to understand where she is at, I realized that I've been thinking of what I want and not how she's struggling and what she needs right now. I love her so much and sadly feel I need to move on for my own mental and emotional health. Your videos have been helpful so far Clay, as well as others I've seen on KZbin, so thank you. Will keep watching them as it helps my anxiety.

The phenomenon of women 'fictionalizing' the relationship, so as to justify their destroying the relationship, is something I was completely unaware of until my soon to be ex-wife did it. It was bizarre. A mind-f*ck to be honest. Clay's videos have confirmed that it's not my imagination. I am slowly subscribing to the school of thought that if they left you once, they'll leave you again. Better to just move on and find someone more stable and dependable.

It is important to assess what really happened to the relationship as one cannot just generalize a thought that applies to every relationship. I also believe that if someone left you once, that person will leave the relationship again if nothing has changed or the issues in the relationship remain. Indeed, a relationship/marriage takes a lot of hard work. I am sorry to hear about what happened with yours. I hope you will soon find the path to healing.

Idk, how much more they could besides me clearly being so much better as a person as I was before. I was weak. I say this bc she said "I already regret it" when she broke up with me. She clearly had a tough time dropping that on me, bc she had always been the one to be dumped before. I was shocked and devastated for a long time, but I'm "over her" in that the stong emotional feelings are gone, however, I still know that we were really good for each other, and ive changed to improve myself in many ways, and still am. I'm not willing to go into a lesser relationship like friends or something similar to run into the same problems, I can only do better. If not with her, someone who has the same qualities or better. I'm old enough tho to know how rare it is to get someone who clicks like that, but I have to try.

When my ex would get mad at me, she would get mean and then her kids and family would call me or text me calling me a pos. Then she would apologize and things would get better then it would happen again. We broke up and today she cusses me out then blocks me, then her daughter calls me and cussed me out then blocked me, then her sister and mom do the same. She's 55 years old and had everyone jumping on me. I finally block all of them and they call my 76 year old mom and tell her I'm a pos. WTF I'm beginning to really think all women are damaged.

I am sorry to hear this Dan. We must be able to recognize when a relationship is toxic for us and have the strength to distance ourselves. But do not let this toxic relationship ruin your future chance of having a healthy and lasting one.

Unfortunately I've had to go into active no contact as my ex is with her new bloke and they have now moved in together. Unfortunately I couldn't deal with it and had to explain to her that I'm still hurting and needed to back of and have space to sort myself out. Unfortunately I'm not sure I can get out of dcm so I think I've lost I wish I was stronger but obviously I'm not 😢

Hey Clay, am already been in your channel like last 3-4 weeks and your videos are great and gives solid background compare to other therapists or youtubers, my situation with my ex is different and i don't really know how to act with it, we been together for 2 years and we loved each other without any benefit however we both are stubborn person and had quite couple of break ups, after last one which happened 6 months ago, we stopped talking, i reached out to her after 4 months, she had depression and we decided to take things slow and cure each other and be together at the end , but things got totally messed after it, after talking for a month , i learnt that she has new boyfriend, however as i said we talked getting together, her depression and sc etc, i got very mad , didn't swear her or her new guy but cutted connection.then she still contacts me and check up on me through social media , it is like someday she say forget about me totally next day she write by her own,or when i meet up with people who surround girls, she writes me and get jealous on me , however she has new rebound relationship, how should i behave with all of these Note: last 2 month am trying to change life in a good way and invest to self

What happens if you did go into panic mode? From reaching out and contacting, wanting to understand... you get blocked, 3rd parties are involved and things just, are way extreme than it should be. I have since stopped contact and reaching out. 😔
@ClayAndrews3 жыл бұрын
If we fall into what we call Damage Control Mode, it is best to step back and do mini Active No Contact if possible. In that way you can work on assess the Advanced Relational Skills that you need to work on further.

hey it’s been a month since break up and my ex reached out a few days ago, i haven’t replied. we were together for two years, and i don’t wanna break no contact cus i feel like once month is nothing and it might ruin everything. shall i reply in another month? or shall i just reply then move on. i definitely don’t want him back. but i want to be at that point in life where i just don’t care about him and i fear replying might so that but i also wanna tell him something

It depends on your emotional readiness, Tim and your intent as to why you have to make a reply.

Hey clay, So my ex and I were together for a month and a half. Short time, I know. It was actually the longest (and only “real”) relationship she’s had. But a few days ago she broke up with me. Everything was going amazing and it was the most effortless and wonderful relationship I’ve ever had. She said that she has been feeling unhappy lately and that she doesn’t know why. She’s scared of commitment due to childhood trauma, and has also dealt with depression for a long time and takes medication. She said that she never lied to me about her feelings for me, and I know she loves me. She’s incredibly hard headed as well. We left things off on a good note, but I’m not sure what to do now. It’s been a couple days since we had that last talk. Any advice?

Hi Charles, the best things to start is work on doing Active No Contact and hone the Advanced Relational Skills. Once you have worked on the foundations, you will eventually navigate the process easier. :-)
