As a young 12 year old, Clayton Shaw enjoyed building speakers. He always knew what he was looking for, however, reaching the goal took many years and life experiences to achieve his goal. Now at 64, in his opinion after 52 years has reached the pinnacle in open baffle speaker design. Take a listen to Clayton's journey as he navigates through the speaker building business.

Great interview Jason. Having owned the original and highly modified EP CS2's and now X5's, this is exactly who Clayton is, very approachable and a true innovator!

GREAT interview! And, couldn't help but notice Clayton's early model Atma-Sphere S-30 on the shelf back there!

Love the interview. I own the X3 speakers. They produce amazing sound, especially classical and jazz music. The open baffle design greatly reduces room interference. Soundstage width and depth are amazing. I'm always interested in hearing from Clayton as he discusses his design philosophy and the quality of the parts he puts in to it. Thank you.

I was surprised to hear that Clayton was in Norman, Ok the same time I was. I was at OU during the early seventies and was getting into audio so spent many hours in the Gramophone and Thompson Sound. I owned two different pairs of Norman Lab speakers. Leonard Bernstein owned Thompson Sound, another nice hifi store in Norman, and along with Jim Long had Norman Laboratories. I still on rare occasion run into one of the owners of the Gramophone, Joe Pryor, here in Oklahoma City.

How do you know what's good with buying it and testing out the speakers?
