Im so glad I found your video! I am using Rod and Staff for a preschool...so we are doing the ABCDEF and the GHIJKL all for prek...well rod and staff doesnt have a kindergarten and I need something between prek and 1st grade. I love the simpleness of Rod and Staff and I cannot even deal with the hub bub and prep for other kindergaten curriculums I have found...BUT THIS. Yeah! You made my day..and to see that it goes right along with Rod and Staff. Thanks for taking the time to go through it in such depth.

We have the memoria press jr K workbooks and this reminds me of that plus it uses Rod and staff as well for some things. Also the explode the code A b C series is similar as well. I love this! I like to use a few to mix it up.

I have decided to do the following for my kiddos. Age 3- CLE K1 with Abeka Letters and Sounds book and Numbers and Skills with Button Bear. Age 4-Rod and Staff A-F with Explode the Code Primers A-C. Age 5- CLE K2 with Rod and Staff G-L and a phonics primer of choice. I also read aloud daily with my littles. I love CLE and Rod and Staff, some find Rod and Staff boring, but we love the simplicity and it is mostly nonconsumable for English, Math, Science, History, and the upper Spelling levels.

Thanks for sharing. I purchased the A-F set but forgot to look at the K2 section. I think I will order these after we get started.

Trish, you stated the second half of kindergarten. Do you have the first half, too? If so, I would love to see it. Thank you for these videos. I looked at your 5th grade review and it definitely helped me decide for next coming up year. Also, do CLE have a placement test??

+Beth Simmons sure, I will need to find it. But I will.

If my child already knows her letters and numbers, do you think this would be beneficial still? Or could we just start Learning to Read and take it slow?
@JustSewTrish6 жыл бұрын
Do KII work books and activity books. Finish with the first 5 books of learning to read and first 3 books of math.

+Amanda Sali you don't need the guide

So basically this would cover math, phonics and handwriting?
@JustSewTrish8 жыл бұрын
+Shannon Bolton yes and just enough. Especially enough if you pair it with rod and staff abc series
@shannonbolton5538 жыл бұрын
This may be a dumb question but I'm new to all this - how do you determine how much to cover each day and how many days per week to be able to do ABC series and Kindergarten II in one year?
@JustSewTrish8 жыл бұрын
we d whatever we can for about 20-30 minutes a day. I let Kindergarten be child led within reason.
