"Hard times are better here than nowhere."..my band did this song through the 70's...a much loved standard for us. Saw Clean Living at the Hullabaloo in Rensselaer, NY somewhere around '75.

I grew up on and with these boys! Tim and my eldest brother "Doc" shared a birthday so poor Timmy kinda ended up with a little sister! LOL This music takes me "home" . . . My brother Brooks Brown did this album cover. Truly a family these boys were and their music was music to soothing to the savage beast! Blessings boys

Very reminiscent of the Eagles. this brings back memories of a better time for the local music scene and for the world.

I saw the band in 1973 when they opened for Country Joe and the Fish. in a movie theater in Port Washington, NY. Great sound... then and today. I still have the album I purchased after the show. I often wondered who each of them were as the back cover just has a group picture, but no identification of who each were by line up of the photo.

Saw them for the first time at Lenox at the Old Music Inn in the late summer of 70 and then years later at Woodbury, Ct. and Toad's Place. They are still one of my top groups and wish they had had better management when they started. A 72 review in Playboy of the top 10 unknown bands in America had them in at #7................They take me back to that meadow at the Inn every time I hear them..........

Great band. We played their songs a bit at WAAF during the 70’s and I booked them into a few clubs in Worcester area with lead singer Norman Schell. This could have been a mega hit, a la marshall tucker band, had they gotten some FM push for airplay. But vanguard was weak. Had they hired indies like the late friend of mine Jerry Brenner they could have been a national act, even a headliner
