I suggest listening to “Labour” by Paris Paloma. The lyrics capture my main point x

The lesson about not buying bigger products because it's a "better deal" is one I'm struggling to learn at the moment. Thanks for the encouragement to keep learning 💕

Hi, thank you for sharing what you’re working on! It’s one of those things that’s different depending on the individual’s comfort level/lifestyle/finance, etc. so no real answer that’s one-size-fits all… but yes if you start to feel uncomfortable with having too many bigger items, it’s probably a sign for you to figure out what works better for you☺️ You’re welcome, thank you for your kind words! Have a great week💕🌻

I like your explanation Joy😊! It's not too much at all. We live and we learn trough the mistakes we make and that is how we can grow as human beings🙏❤.

Exactly Katarina :) We all make mistakes - but we can all keep going, as long as we’re working towards being better! Have a lovely day❤️

You just have to be true to yourself and know the difference between real needs and fake needs.

True that!

I think you have the right amount of clothes! I think most people have too many clothing that just lives in closets collecting dust. Better to have a small amount of higher quality well loved items then a bunch of “meh” clothes that serve no purpose.

Hi Melanie💞 Thank you always for leaving comments that make me smile :) Yes, everyone's different in how many clothes they're comfortable with and I'm content with having the very few that I absolutely LOVE. I like that you mentioned 'collecting dust' part - if someone can maintain a large wardrobe without them collecting dust, more power to them. For me personally, I'm not a fan of managing/maintaining a large wardrobe so this works for me. Have a lovely week! xox

that thing you said where you mention others comfort!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my home is not for their comfort!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! exactly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if they way i live puts someone off then i dont want them in my life!

Hi :)) Yes exactly! Unless they're paying my rent & sharing equal domestic labor, they have no say in it haha. We can always find those who are on similar path/page with our lifestyle choices, so it's even more important to continue finding exactly who we are and work on oursevles/our boundaries. Thank you for your comment & have a lovely rest of the week! xo

You must save so much money! I'd be interested to know what you spend your money on if not on stuff!
@gallerybyjoy Жыл бұрын
Hi Katie, this is a great question! I'm kind of thinking about doing a video about this but here's where I spend my money(and I also try to save more and spend less, just like anyone else :) ) 1. Food/Drinks: I go out and buy food/order food without much thought behind them(but I'm trying to cut back on that to learn to cook more and save more). I also buy coffee whenever I feel like, which I'm also trying to buy less of haha.. 2. Comfort: I also spend money on things like taxi ride if it's more convenient/comfortable to do so. 3. Work stuff: I buy higher end products for my salon, considering the price range of this neighborhood. I charge almost double of what a salon across from me charges, but I also make sure I use very good brand products, which costs money. 4. Hobbies/"Happy" stuff: I take trips, and even travel. Last year I went to Europe for the first time. Although most of it was paid for by the work I was doing in Europe, I was able to spend my own money to 'travel in style' when I went to another country in Europe. I also buy books whenever I feel like, buy gifts for people I care about without much thought, go on dates and also treat the person I'm dating if I feel like, also try out a new hobby like boxing and buy gears for that, as I mentioned in this video, etc. 5. AND material things too!: I also buy material things, even if I own so little at the monent. For instance, just like how I said I threw away winter coat after this past winter & I'll just buy a new one, I often replace clothes etc. with new clothing. The only difference is I declutter the old one when I invite a new one. I'm also trying to buy less "new" things and just be more thoughtful when I purchase an item and take care of it better so it lasts longer. So in a way, extra money I have from practicing minimalism can be used to experiment more with shopping as a minimalist. I loved answering this question, if it wasn't clear...haha. Thanks for asking it & hope this was helpful. Have a wonderful week! x

It's actually the other way around. We wouldn't date guys who don't accept us or our lifestyles as minimalists. No need to choose people who would be bothered by our tiny wardrobes etc.
@gallerybyjoy Жыл бұрын
Exactly! As IF it mattered what men thought about what we wear. That being said, if someone I was with was genuinely curious about why I own so little, I can always explain to them the reasons☺️

Little more extreme but nice to see and good explanation on your feelings towards those items. 😊
@gallerybyjoy Жыл бұрын
Right? I started sharing my feelings/thoughts behind these decisions because from outside it might look like I'm decluttering without much considerations. Also hoping it'd help others talk things through with themselves if they struggle to minimize hehe. Thanks as always! :)

Minimalism isn't selfish. Why buy things if you don't need anyway, for what?
