Hi again Hans, I love your playing and your contribution to music... and you are so helpful! I am having a lot of fun using your John Mayer "Slow Dancing in A Burning Room" settings. I had to transpose and tweak it a little bit, because I use a different "Effects Unit" and a "Vox Amp." That being said; it sounds great with your core settings. Nailed it! I wanted to ask? What make Strings are you using? And what String Gauge do you use? I am using the Ibanez "factory Strings," which were good. I believe they are .010 to .046's However, they now need changing? Hope you can help me out? And thank you for your help. Much appreciated. Cheers. Phil

Thank you for the kind words! For this video, I used the factory strings which were .010-.046. They felt like 9s because of the Ibanez AZES40's shorter 25" scale length. On 25.5" scale length guitars like Strats, I use 9s. These days, I use 10s on my Strandberg since it's a multi-scale guitar. As for the brand, I find that Elixir Nanowebs 10-46 last the longest for me.

I’m considering to buy this one or Yamaha Pacifica 112V which one do you think would be best for beginner in terms of comfort and playability
@hanskorn
@hanskorn 2 ай бұрын
Ibanez AZES. It has a smaller, lighter body, and a shorter 25” scale length which makes it easier to bend due to less string tension. It also has a Dynamix switch which gives you many tonal options, which is helpful for beginners who are beginning to discover what pickup sounds they prefer.

I'm wandering around to choose between 31 and 40. It's because of the arrangement of pickups, I want a sss pickup, but I'm concerned with the Tremolo Bridge of 40. Which would be a better choice?
@hanskorn
@hanskorn 2 ай бұрын
If I were to repurchase an Ibanez AZES again, I would go for the AZES31. In my experience, the stock bridge on the 40 is okay for light usage. Heavy usage such as divebombs sends it out of tune. Unless you replace the tremolo bridge and upgrade the nut, I would go for the AZES31. You also mentioned you wanted the SSS configuration, which is truer to the S-style guitar sound. Ibanez AZES40 was fine out of the box before I upgraded it. Based on my experiencing trying Ibanez AZES guitars in store on multiple occasions, stock configuration and factory setup made it playable out of the box. Hope that helps!

@@hanskorn You played so good. Torn between this and the classic vibe squier 60s. I like both of their necks. Which do you prefer?
@hanskorn
@hanskorn 2 жыл бұрын
@@froilanbas759 Thanks! I prefer the AZES40 because of its versatility. It can go from jazz all the way to hard rock and fusion, and everything in between. The neck shape feels more comfortable, faster to play on due to lack of a finish at the back, and the 25” scale makes it easier to bend. It also costs less than a Classic Vibe.
@froilanbas759
@froilanbas759 2 жыл бұрын
@@hanskorn bro one last thing. How's the bending with the stock strings. Is it easier because of the scale length?
@hanskorn
@hanskorn 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, the scale length makes it easy to bend with the stock 10s. I didn’t need to change to 9s.

Hey man sounds awesome, was wondering what graph tech nut model did you use specifically
@hanskorn
@hanskorn 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, man! Sorry I can’t remember the exact product code. I looked up the nuts on the Graphtech site and PT-5000-00 might be your best bet. What I do remember is the nut my local guitar tech installed was slightly longer than the required dimension. You can always sand it down if it’s too long. Hope that helps though and thanks for checking out the video.

Hi I’m a beginner needing some help with amp settings. Do you play with headphones on your Yamaha THR? I have the same guitar and Yamaha THR10II but when I play with headphones on it sounds different. Also what model of bridge did you change it to? Did you also change the tuners?
@hanskorn
@hanskorn Жыл бұрын
Hi. I just play through the amp. Sound will depend on the quality your headphones, so I suggest investing in some studio headphones. I changed the bridge to a Wilkinson WVP6-SB 5+1. I kept the tuners stock, but if I had this guitar again, I would change them to staggered locking tuners . Hope that helps!
