This is preventing ingrowns, it would be A LOT more painful is this becomes an ingrown nail, not only before it’s removed but after its removed also. Removing ingrowns is literally a surgical procedure since the nail goes deep enough into your skin to make a physical wound that bleeds A LOT

Aaaaand of course here are the “experts” in this area acting like they know how this works. Yes getting it taken care of an impacted toenail IS going to hurt. However, the pain will only be worse if it becomes ingrown. Removing an ingrown is VERY painful.

But also to answer the original comment it’s better to do it then instead of letting it get to the point of infection and being ingrown because it’s a lot less healing time and less risk of further infection since you’re not opening the skin enough to let infection in if it’s done properly

The client has an impacted (not ingrown) toenail. The excess hardened dead flesh is very painful. Removal is necessary for providing relief.

The nails'corners from the toes should never be cut. Just cut the nail straight. Before the birth of my son 22 years ago, I got them cut and after a while I had to operate my nails to remove the corners. It got worse then I removed the nails (twice on one foot).
