2:50 the astraea snails in this hobby are actually of the species lithopoma americanum and lithopoma tectum.

My Issue with Astra snail - Astraea is a genus of medium to large sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the family Turbinidae, the turban snails. is they cannot self-right! Other than that they are a great gastropod!

Praise the Lord, yes... I hate crabs they are just not necessary in a reef tank - Jake Adams and Than from tidal Gardens also agree. See my post below I just bought a large Halloween Hermit and all he does is knock over everything

Hi Mitchell, loved the video. Can you comment on your reason not to recommend the Halloween urchin? Was leaning toward that one (for the color and belief they didn't pick up as much 'cargo' as they went around the tank ) instead of tuxedo, but your video has given me reason to pause. Thanks!

Hey! I would rank them somewhere in-between the Variegated Urchins and the Tuxedo Urchins. Certainly less of a bulldozer than the Variegated, but they are better at pulling our frag plugs out of the rack than Tuxedos. If all of your coral is glued down and you're not worried about it moving small rocks around the tank a Halloween Urchin is a great option!

I bought a Halloween Hermit crab - Ciliopagurus strigatus - worst addition ever all it does is knock corals over, I am much happier with my sand sifting conch - Strombus species
