Hi @ Faous JZ.... Jorge here I'm married to Nikki and if you think she is putting in a show or did you mean putting on a show? Anyway that is the same woman I've been seeing clean for the last 15 years of marriage and it's always looked like that so if you think that's la la land then I guess I live there too.....

Your wife is lovely and her channel is a new discovery for me. The only people who will leave nasty comments are those who have nothing going on in their lives that fulfills them. so they feel nasty and empty.. because they are. When you squeeze an orange what comes out of it? Orange juice. Why? Because that's what is in there. When you squeeze a nasty, empty person what comes out? nasty & empty. . By the way.. La La Land is a fabulous place to live.. I have been residing there for years. I am a professional entertainer and devoted Life Time Home Sparkler.

I’ve said this before but the production values of your videos are top notch. My husband & I have worked with well known people & experienced crews. You can put together an episode as nicely or even better than the pros with their expensive studios & equipment inside a big production house. The camera work, the angles, the creative process, the editing, excellent. Well done. The shot of you climbing up to reach top of armoire & popping up over the top-fantastic. Every shot was well done and varied to flow together perfectly & with great music choice. You are very talented, artistic, & creative, Nikki and so is your husband. Plus, you both are photogenic & have great on cam presence. I am always shocked that you don’t have 500,000 subscribers (and shocked at the people who do haha).

Hi Nikki, your recent videos on homemaking have been truly inspiring. They truly do capture the essence of whatever you do, do it heartily as to the Lord. I would also agree that it's also inspiring that you don't speed up the video during cleaning. So often, we rush through things and your cleaning videos remind me to slow it down.

There were times when my kids were little (and for one when he was older lol) when I had to "sweep out their rooms" and clear so much clutter out from under their beds, etc. One day, after giving one an ultimatum that if he did not clean his room I would and he would not be happy with the results, after he left for school, I cleaned everything out except what he absolutely had to have. A bed, a lamp, an end table, his dresser, and 6 days of clothes. No toys, no baseball and football cards. no electronics........left with a pad of paper, one book, and a pencil. lol I told him he had to earn things back but that I was done cleaning that mess. Needless to say, I never had to clean his room again.

I have been watching a group of your videos as a reward to myself for getting the house clean. I finish a task and watch a video; finish another and watch another. Today, before I watched this one, I watched a tour of your house back in 2017. Each child had his/her own room. They were very cute, but when I saw your girls room on this one, I was so touched. Their room is full of joy! (And there you were dancing ballet while cleaning. :)) I think they really enjoy having their room together. When I was a little girl, my sisters and I had our room together! There is something about having a room together that will create a stronger bond. The conversations and time spend there by them will be with them until they are older! Jorge, I just read your comment in here! Bravo chico guapo! God bless your marriage and make it stronger everyday!

Beautiful Nikki, Every word so true! ...the cycle of life...our childhood, our children, is it any wonder us women get so melancholic? I have a 20 year old daughter and an 18 year old son. I’m learning to let go of some things and get sad here and there, but then a new adventure or achievement in their life comes along and I’m bursting with pride and joy. And the reward? I love the ability to teach my children decision making skills with decluttering. When we make decisions about our things, they grow in that! I desire for my children to have confidence in their own rooms and decluttering is a huge way we build their confidence together. ❤️ I also am going to check out the tights you mentioned! It’s so cold here, I haven’t felt up to wearing dresses. ☺️
@TheLadyoftheHouse4 жыл бұрын
There are always things coming and going in our lives so that skill is indeed important. I noticed I felt much warmer in the sweater tights compared to my usual nylons. I saw a lady wearing longer socks as well that looked really warm with her flats and midi dress, it looked beautifully paired and inspired me to try a similar look.

Your videos are so beautiful, Nikki! I always love watching them. With regards to the one viewer who commented about being SAD, I just wanted to mention that this is also an acronym for Seasonal Affective Disorder. I'm not sure if this is perhaps what she might have been referring to. I'm also Canadian and it is a real phenomenon here with the dark days. I think it affects many of us living here. For myself, I keep my spirits up by lighting candles and essential oils with uplifting scents, playing music while I do my housework, taking Omega 3 daily, and making sure I get daily exercise, even if it's just 20 minutes of yoga at home. We are hardwired to slow down at this time of year, and I do my best not to overschedule (not always successful with that one, but I try) and to honour my body's need for more rest. And I watch uplifting content, like the ones you post Nikki, to keep inspired.

Oh this was so beautiful. I love your tea table and tea chat. I always felt a nice table in that room would bring coziness. Thank you so much for addressing sadness. The SAD I was referring to was feelings, but also Seasonal Affectiveness Disorder. It is when there are too many days without sunshine. We got 4 inches of snow today. The sun has not been around for almost 2 months. (Only short periods) Oh for spring. I can never get into a comfortable Christmas feeling. Please know you are precious and help so many doing the jobs of mothering, wife, housekeeper and more. Blessings

Yes Pearl, it's a constant struggle! Even after the toys came out of the room. It's easier for them to clean up yes, but it still gets messy with clothes and trash and other things. You just walk around wondering how it all got there hahaha! I also want to add that before I make a video, I have often already started on what needs to be done because I can't focus on filming when it's such a mess plus that would take so much time in editing. Hello Michelle! I usually write out my goals in my new planner and make a plan for the coming year as far as when I hope to achieve each thing. What I learned was that when I have given my older children the option of holding onto things for them that they wanted to keep, but did not want to store, I was not doing them any favors. I will admit that there are a couple of toys that my children were ready to let go of that held too precious of memories for me to get rid of. I kept those couple of items, and now our grandchildren enjoy them. But I think it's good to teach our children not to keep more than they are willing to store.

Thank you Diana! I'm sorry you struggle with this. It's great that you can identify what your issue is. I may share a video on that style soon.

I love your videos. They are so pleasant and beautiful. Do you ever give decor tips via email based on pic? Also, where do you get your realistic flowers?
@TheLadyoftheHouse4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Cally! I haven't done that but I would be happy to try. Most of my floral arrangements have come from HomeGoods. Some are real like the white ones on the coffee table and tea table in this video.

Hello! I am pretty new to this channel. I found you via The Daily Connoisseur. :) Your videos are beautiful and inspiring to me to keep my house and my family with a better attitude. I started my decluttering journey about 8 months or so ago and I am still working at it. I LOVE the feeling of getting rid of the things we truly don't need; I feel like I have more room to breathe! My kids quickly understood that fewer toys (that they never play with, anyway) mean less to clean up and less yelling from Mom. :) I would have to say that my biggest battle hasn't even been getting rid of most of the kids' toys; rather, keeping the kids from taking what toys they DO still have all over the house. :) Ever since my kids were babies, I have worked to keep the bedroom for sleeping ONLY. Sometimes toys still find their way into the bedroom, but I will not stop my efforts to keep them out! I think that bedrooms should be for sleeping and toys and such (electronics of any sort) in the bedroom only serve as a distraction from getting to sleep. I should also add that my kids all sleep in the same room but in separate beds, like your girls. Actually, just today I brought an armchair and end table into my kids' bedroom so I could read stories and prayers to them at bedtime. It makes the room look extra cozy and makes for less space/temptation for them to bring toys in there. :)

Welcome, I'm so glad you decided to come over after Jennifer's recommendation, she's wonderful! I loved hearing about what your journey has been like. It's something we must constantly work at as long as these little ones are in our home. Adding that armchair sounds like a lovely idea and solution!

My kids' favorite toys were stuffed animals. By the time they were in their teens they owned so many, I couldn't count! So, I did some compromising around decluttering them. I said they could keep half. They got to pick out their favorites. Maybe, two months later, I said, half have to go again. This was harder. But, we set up the stuffed animals in poses (the ones getting discarded) & we took photos of them & printed them off. That made the kids happy. I think I also kept the "to go" bag for many months, hidden away, incase of a change of stuffie loyalty!😂

What a beautiful video! I love the sheets in your girls' room with the little rosebuds so much...any chance you remember where you got them? And, I have been wanting to ask you - I hope it's okay - but do your children have a room in the basement with all of their toys? Because it seems astonishing that their bedrooms are so tidy and completely toy-free. Our house is small and my children's bedrooms look nothing like that, to say the least. ;)
@TheLadyoftheHouse4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Laura! Yes, I got them from Target, they are from the Simply Shabby Chic line. I did a thorough cleaning of their room before I filmed this particular video. My girls trash their spaces each and every day. I think I mentioned in this video that we moved what toys they chose to keep out to their playhouse. It doesn't matter what I try, they keep making messes hahaha! My kids don't get many toys anymore though and they have pretty much grown out of that stage. Less is more in my mind. Less stuff means more quality time, more appreciation for what they have and more sanity for me ;)

This is not reality it's fantasy, come on ladies who is kidding who here ? She is making everything look so calm and putting in a show for people that live in la la land

Hi Jorge here I'm married to Nikki and if you think she is putting in a show... Or did you mean putting on a show? Anyway that is the same woman I've been seeing clean for the last 15 years of marriage and it's always looked like that so if that's LA LA land then I guess that's were I live...

It is first in our imagination that a new reality begins to come to life. Seeing someone like Nikki awakens the dreams of possibilities. Those of us watching these lovely videos understand quite well that there is always more to the story than the tiny glimpses we get into someone’s life by watching them on KZbin. We are not under any delusions. However, it is both the respite from our own daily routines and the inspiration to bring more beauty and grace into our homes that bring us to this channel again and again. Thank you, Nikki, for giving us as homemakers a renewed desire to make home and family care a pleasure and a joy.
