I love all your videos. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise. I have been a lash artist for almost 10 years now and I'm always reminding my clients to clean their lashes. I'll have to forward your video to my stubborn ones, lol.

Can you please talk about getting an allergic reaction with lash extensions I recently ended up with a swollen eye my eye doctor thought it might be just too much glue in the one eye but my lash lines were both itchy and red

Thanks for this helpful video!! I was considering lash extensions so this is great to know. I wouldn’t be surprised if a beauty brand takes advantage of this untapped market and comes out with an eyelash extension shampoo 😂🧴👁🕷

There are gonna be times where an extension is attached to your natural lash. You lost 3-5 natural eyelashes a day. The extensions are adhered directly to your natural lash, so when they shed, you will see the extension attached to it. Just as long as they are not falling out in clumps or seeing a few natural lashes stuck to an extension. that is the point in which there’s a problem!

I have minor blepharitis or least that’s what I think it is so my lid will get puffy after lash extensions for like few days then it goes away so I took off my lash extensions for about three months now do you think I can ever get it again or best to just not ever try again I really love lash extensions

Is it possible that the red irritation can be from the adhesive? I’ve had extensions for a year and 1 red itchy area on lid line. I bought the product you suggested will see if that helps
@DrRupaWong Жыл бұрын
It is definitely possible. If you have irritation it is best not to use it again. You may be having an allergic reaction to it. Let me know if that helps!

Isn't micellar water slightly oil based? I use the pink garnier one but it has Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate as the 4th ingredient which is derived from coconut oil. I'm afraid to use it on my lashes because I fear they might fall out instantly

Would this routine work for Kiss Falscara kit? And you do this routine daily even if you change the Falscara lashes out every couple days (as opposed to the max 10 days)?

If baby shampoo is too harsh other products likely will be worse. Have you tried vaseline?

Unfortunately I did not keep my lashes clean and I have demodex. What do you recommend to get rid of them? My eye doctor recommended baby shampoo.
@DrRupaWong4 жыл бұрын
Oh no!!! That's terrible. It's so easy to want to avoid cleaning extensions to prevent them from falling. The tea tree oil foaming cleanser is good (I linked to it above). It's actually been shown to be better than baby shampoo: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1772908/

I've never gotten lash extensions (can't afford it yet.. 😏). But, when I do, I'll definitely use this as a reference. Question- if you don't wear eye makeup, do you still need to clean it this thoroughly?
@DrRupaWong4 жыл бұрын
Yes, they are definitely pricey. And even if you don't wear eye makeup I would still clean them this thoroughly at least every other day. (but every day is best), because you can get a lot of accumulation of oil and skin debris on the extensions.

some people reuse just regular strip lashes for one day because they are expensive, I am a makeup artist and when my clients ask, I just say no, because I have no idea how to clean them completely, or the treatment to clean them like new, would you do that?
@kathleenhansen43444 жыл бұрын
what is the likelihood of getting lash mites on your natural lashes if you don't wear makeup? During quarantine I haven't been wearing makeup; therefore, when washing my face I tend to neglect my eyes lol
@DrRupaWong4 жыл бұрын
You can still get lash mites if you have a condition called blepharitis (oily glands which produce thick oil). It wouldn't be common, but possible.

My eye doctor also recommended a tea tree oil based eye cleanser, but I am allergic to eucalyptus. I dont have extensions but do false eyelashes at work on the weekend. Do you have a different recommendation for me?
@LaPetite51021 күн бұрын
What does your allergy to eucalyptus have to do w/tea tree oil? I'm genuinely confused b/c I don't get the correlation.

Hi Dr. Rupa! Thank you for all your suggestions. What is your opinion on lash extensions for someone who wears prescribed contacts?
@char08fal4 жыл бұрын
I know she hasn't responded yet but I wear contacts and have lash extensions. I usually keep the extensions on for a while then a few months without them. I just take my contacts out to get the extensions and put my contacts back on afterwards.
