Informative review and update on the 4.6 Jeep stroker engine build. After 11 months and 6,000 miles, this video provides some insight into some cooling issues I solved when summer temperatures soared to 112 degrees. After troubleshooting the cooling system, I found that the TYC auxiliary electric fan was not pulling enough CFM at idle to keep coolant temps below 230 under extreme heat. I also found that the original AC condenser was damaged enough to block air flow at highway speeds, thus reducing air flow to the radiator. After upgrading to a SPAL 10" fan below, and a new AC condenser, all my cooling problems were mitigated.

By the end of the summer, I was confident I could take the new engine through the Mojave desert without overheating!
Lessons learned:
1. Replace the A/C condenser if your doing an engine rebuild and it's not providing enough flow to the radiator.
2. Run the SPAL fan to pull more CFM than aftermarket OEM replacements such as the TYC.
3. Ensure you have a properly sized transmission cooler to keep the AW4 cool during the summer.
4. Buy quality injector pig tails such as Standard Motor
5. The OEM mopar sensor reads the most accurate compared to oreilly's, autozone sensors
6. Keep in mind the weight of your rig and how it affects load, especially under summer temps. Get it weighted at a local truck stop CAT scale.
