Hi @@rastamarley8708! The song is best played in a drop tuning (Drop D, Drop C#, etc) otherwise it will be too far of a stretch to reach the second and third chords in the progression. In my cover, I only played in Drop C# because my guitar was setup for that tuning at that time. Thanks for checking out the video! ♥️

Were you using any effects? Distortion? I'm about to buy my first guitar and I'm little bit torn between jazzmaster and stratocaster from fender/squire. I just want to learn this and play till I die xD

Hi! If you’re buying your first guitar I highly suggest buying a multi-FX unit. They’re good to play around with when you don’t know exactly what you want; the entry level price starts very cheap too. This video was recorded via direct input into my MacBook Pro using Logic Pro (if you’ve heard of GarageBand, it’s pretty much a “pro” version of that). All the sounds are from Logic Pro’s Amp Simulator plug-in/effect.

@@noahm thank you. Any opinion regarding jazzmaster vs stratocaster type? Most probably it will be a fender/squier.

@@Pitti_Piotr all the guitars I own are 100% based on the appearance, therefore I would choose the Jazzmaster haha. If you think it’s cool to look at, you’ll probably be more interested in wanting to play it. The other thing I go for is the options or features (and sometimes lack of; the guitar in this video is super super simple; only a volume knob and a 3-way pickup switch). The Stratocaster [generally] has a 5 way pickup switch so you have more diversity regarding sound (although maybe not important, but I remember on my first guitar it had a 5-way pickup switch and I thought it was really cool and you get to experiment more). I also didn’t answer your initial question: _technically_ I used overdrive, or maybe even just turned the amp gain (“volume” in a way); I can’t remember. An overdrive would do the trick too - most likely - except you won’t have the distortion setting/value set too high. My final recommendation (and to sum it all up): buy stuff with more options until you know what you like. My first guitar was an Aston Stratocaster (a cheap-styled Fender Stratocaster) and a Vox VT15. The amp had something like 31 amp models (i.e. different guitar amps, except simulated) and 20 effects to play around with. Everything I do now is through a computer (unless I’m recording professionally or playing live) using a direct input into my computer. There are plenty of free plug-ins/effects that you can download for free on all platforms (desktop and mobile) and the best part is you can use headphones. I might do a video in the future about my setup and how I record videos and some settings I use, but I can’t guarantee it because I procrastinate too much 😊 thank you for watching my video and of course if you have anything else let me know.

As for now I like jazzmaster look more than normal stratocaster, but I have super nice flake super stratocaster guitar saved to favorites too but its more expensive so I need to think how much I want to spend and maybe I will just go store to look at strato vs jazz to see and hear it live.
