This series follows people who, by their own admission, cannot stop cleaning and carefully matches them with someone whose home is in dire need of a spring clean. Together these people with such contrasting compulsions will explore how their different behaviour affects their lives.
The first volunteer is Kerry from Essex. The 34 year old glamour model manages to keep a spotless home despite also working as an assistant paramedic and being a single parent to five kids.
All traces of the kids are removed however, with the living room rug hovered up to five times a day to avoid ‘bum patches’ where the children have sat.

Boils my blood when people blame the child for the house being messy. It all starts with the parents and how they live their lives. Looks like the lack of cleanliness runs in the family if the grandma is agreeing. That makes no sense when she’s admitted that even before he was born she has never deep cleaned her home. Also parents should be more responsible and on top of things like this, kids deserve better!

Even if she “never thinks” about cleaning, surely she can hire a cleaner to think and do it for her. She’s got money for false nails and her hair looks lovely and professionally attended to, so she has money for a cleaner to help out twice per month. She’s obviously struggling with mental health and needs the right support. She should be having an orderly clean home for herself. Unfortunately most depressed people who aren’t clean don’t want to hear anything bad but it’s reality. Only she can be responsible for transforming her house and her life. No one else is coming to save her. She’s made the choice to be a parent and that’s responsibility. Hygiene is part of parenthood.

Absolutely shocking and pathetic and lame excuses provided by the single mum. She only works one day each week and has one child and yet she cannot find time to put things away. Ashamed? She should be. Stop with the crying in pity because what she was doing was nothing more than abuse - allowing her child to live in squalor. The woman's parent who appeared to laugh at it all is equally as responsible. No wonder the woman didn't do anything and views life from such a warped and distorted perspective. If I worked for social services and saw a child's home in such condition this would ring alarm bells for me. People like this make me sick.

Asking for help is a start, But understand you’re not doing it for your child nor putting him in your bed “for his comfort “ because his dad left. It’s not because you love your child more than others. Loving your child is providing them a safe clean nurturing environment to grow in. I’m not saying she’s a bad mum I’m saying recognition of the correct problem is important . This program matches people very well for healing on both ends of the scale.

Thinks the "shock" of being outside will kill Rosey the Rabbit. Did you ever think that your rabbit might feel excited and joy to feel the sunshine on her back and the fresh air and the cool grass to nibble? You can take the base off the cage and keep Rosey contained and she can still enjoy the outdoors time. It doesn't have to be ALL the time. You can also build enclosures.... But I don't think you'd BUILD anything.

There's a lot of focus on the dirty people, but the cleaners also have serious problems. I have a friend who doesn't let her 5 year old daughter take many toys out to play. Actually I don't know if she has many toys because all her things are put in cupboards and I feel so sorry for her because she's not allowed to enjoy the things other kids can. The home is spotless and my friend almost never goes out because she's cleaning. Another woman I know has teenage kids and a husband that avoid being at home because they are constantly supervised so as not to dirty things. They aren't allowed to eat on the sofa and this woman knows her family resents her. I would hate to have a partner or parent that was OCD clean almost as much as a dirty one.

Okay, but can we talk about the rabbit in the cage? Rabbits are not animals who are supposed to be in cages! Eighter keep them in a play pen or free roam them. Also, rabbits need access to hay 24/7 and they can drink as much as a big dog.... and rabbits shouldn’t live outside, not only are they prey animals, but they are sensitive to temperature. Why do people don’t do any research before bringing homa an animal?!🤦‍♀️

You see the KZbin videos where they have this "massive clean and declutter" of their rubbish dump of a house. They say it's just life because they have kids. I agree that having kids is no excuse for living in an absolute mess. I have suffered lifelong from depression and the fact that because of some accidents and injuries in the past which have put on the disability support pension makes it very difficult to keep things clean and tidy makes the depression worse. My husband and adult daughter also have medical issues that prevent THEM from getting stuck in with the cleaning. I don't think I'm OCD but the idea of an immaculate house sounds lovely to me. I think the best feeling would be to go to bed in a clean nightie and clean sheets after a good hot shower using fresh towels. All in a spotless house. The fact that I broke three ribs a few days ago makes things even more depressing. I (usually) wash the dishes three times a day and wipe the entire kitchen down each time. Vacuum and dust weekly, do about eight loads of general washing per week. Wash sheets and towels in hot water weekly. I shower every night and clean the bathroom at the same time. I'd just LOVE to have someone come in say once a month and do an absolutely top to bottom deep cleaning.

There are excuses for not tidying up, but there are no excuses to live in filth. I am by no means the cleanest person, but I make sure to at least wipe surfaces, hoover once a week, mop every month, and clean the toilet regularly. By just doing these few things you'll always be alright. I admit I didn't clean my windows for like a year and change the bed sheets only when I notice dirt, but my house still looks ten times cleaner and I don't walk trough dirt as I do when I go to my friends house.
