You can but since it doesn’t have any suction you’d have to try to get up the liquid or whatever is loosened will just dry on again. You could use a towel but honestly, a carpet cleaner will work much better. And the heat could melt the plastic in your carpet…I’ve done it for stains but I’m careful not to leave the steam on too long. It can also burn upholstery fabric if it’s held in one spot for too long.

Yes you can. Just don’t get the wood too wet (don’t hold the steam for too long) and wipe with a cloth.

I’m still partial to the Dupray because the quality is much better on everything except the steam mop. This one is lighter, eaiser to carry and use though. It has the storage and easy to use handle. The handle on the Dupray gets stuck. The cord is way too short though. In the end I stayed with my Dupray. I’d say this is best if you’re a light user and have a smaller space or can’t lift very much weight.

@tikass9901 I think either one would be great. The boiler in the Dupray is steel and the plastic casing is much higher quality but it comes with more weight. I’d choose the Dupray over any other steam cleaner. However, I started with their $900 model and a Sergeant Steam so it’s like going from a Mercedes to a Fiat. But they’re more than most people need for every day use. I’m sort of hard core.

Yes, because it doesn’t have suction like a carpet cleaner. But then you don’t have to dump out the water and clean the machine like a carpet cleaner.

No, you shouldn’t use steam or water on laminate - it will warp the material over time. So I don’t use it on my laminate floors. But I haven’t before and if I look close I can see it. Not enough damage to replace it but we decided to stop using a steam cleaner on it. My vacuum mop puts down very little water so it’s fine and if you use a regular mop just don’t get it too wet.

I prefer the Neat although I like that this one is lightweight and has built in storage for the attachments. It’s better quality (can clean hotter and longer). But it’s heavier and harder to maneuver.
