Fantastic review! I now have 2 $1,000+ commercial steam cleaners (continuous fill units), but last year, when I only had one and it decided to break down right in the middle of doing a move-in and move-out clean for my daughter, I needed to buy a cheaper temporary unit while it got fixed. I chose a Dupray Neat. I was SO impressed with this steamer. It is very well made, very easy to use, compact, light, easy to store and transport and it does a great job of cleaning! I did miss not being able to control the steam output, which is a bit too powerful when using the nozzle for some more delicate tasks...and you have to be careful to keep it moving quickly over hardwood floors or leather to avoid any damage because you can’t turn the steam down, but as long as you know to do that then it works really well. If you use ALL the steam until no more comes out (and there is no pressure left) then you can safely turn it off, open the cap immediately and carefully refill it with hot water (watch out for some spitting and sizzling when the water hits the hot tank) and then switch it back on as soon as you’ve refilled it. Refilling it this way really minimizes the downtime needed before you are ready to steam again. I generally use my commercial units for regular and deep cleaning my house, but I love the NEAT unit to take with us to vacation rentals or hotels (we’ve had some bad experiences with dirty ones, so now I can easily throw the NEAT in the back of the car and sanitize beds, sofas, carpets while traveling). It’s also a very simple unit to loan to friends if they want to see what using a steamer is like :). Love it!

S Jones, Good Morning! I have the Vapor clean Pro6 Duo, which has a small cube-type footprint and is light weight like the NEAT, so easy to transport (12” x 12” and I think about 10-12 lbs empty). It’s continuous fill and the attachments clip on and off really easily without pinching your fingers. It is stainless steel and has up to 6 bars pressure. The only things I don’t like about it are that you can’t lock the steam trigger for continuous steam output (although the trigger is really light and easy to press) and that the steam handle design is a bit tiring for my grip and makes my wrist ache...however, I’m 57 and have some arthritis in my fingers and weak wrists. The other one I looked at was the Dupray One Plus, which is quite a bit cheaper and more for heavy home use as this one is continuous fill, but has a plastic casing and just 4.5 bars of pressure (however, it’s the heat that does the work, not the pressure, so that’s perfectly OK, I use my Pro6 plus at 4 bars or less most of the time). The Dupray One Plus is also heavier and has a bigger footprint, being 17” x 12.5” and 15 lbs empty. Ultimately, I went with the Pro6 Duo because of weight and size and also because my other commercial unit is a 15+ year old Vapor Clean Stimmy TR6 (now discontinued), but that one is still working just fine so I know that their products should last a while. I’m NOT a professional house cleaner, I’ve just been using steam cleaners for over 30 years (starting when I lived in the UK), and love them for cleaning my own house, detailing our car, and I do sometimes ‘work for wine’ as a favour for family and friends if they need someone to do a move-in or a move-out clean (my kids are that age where moving apartments is almost a yearly occurrence 🤣). Hope this helps!

S Jones, depends on how much you use one, and for how long. A smaller model like the NEAT will do wonderfully in smaller houses or apartments, or if you only clean for a couple of hours at a time, but if you want one to do longer or deeper cleaning then a continuous fill model is a lot more convenient. I am keeping and using my NEAT upstairs as it’s more convenient to clean our bathroom weekly and occasionally freshen the mattress or carpets, which don’t take long. I keep my Pro6 Duo downstairs as we have a lot of hardwood floors, a big kitchen, and it gives me easy access to the garage for car detailing. My old Stimmy TR6 is in semi-retirement down in the basement as it is heavy and bulky and we really only use it to clean up the basement a couple of times a year. Honestly, if you are just using a steamer to clean the bathroom and other quick jobs, then the NEAT is perfect for that. If you sometimes do lots of grout, or moving cleans then a continuous fill would be better. It took me 10 days to do a move-in clean for my daughter last year and I couldn’t have managed that without a commercial model.

@@lyndacoles Are you happy with the Pro6 Duo? It seems to get good reviews. Is there any feature you wish it had that it doesn't?
@lyndacoles
@lyndacoles 4 жыл бұрын
S Jones I am generally mostly happy with it, I wish it held pressure a bit better...but that’s always going to be a problem with a 110V electric supply and I live at 7,500 feet which doesn’t help either. As long as you don’t expect that pressure to hold at 6 bars with the steam wide open! I usually manage 2-3 bars with the wide floor tool and 3-4 bars with the jet nozzle :). BUT it’s the heat that does the work, not the pressure, and it does do a good job :)

The newer model hoses are 6’6” long. I’ve had my Neat for a couple years…interesting they shortened the hose. I love my Neat and just got the newer Neat Plus. Great video!! Your voice is easy to listen to as well (a big point for me)😊. Sharing w/my sister who I’m giving my original Neat to for her RV.

Love this review! I have a monumental cleaning task...renter moved out after 9 years having NEVER cleaned! The daunting job has me in tears, as the walls and even the ceilings are HIDEOUS. I have allergies so cannot use strong detergents or chemicals. I saw that Costco has this brand for sale, and I am heading down NOW!!

Brilliant video! Very thorough and helpful overview of the product - unlike a lot of other videos that offer very little information or actual cleaning examples. I ordered a Dupray Neat myself and it arrived yesterday :) Unfortunately I've only had time to use it for about 25 minutes in the kitchen but it's been a blast (pardon the pun) so far. Love that I can use my own microfiber cloths with the attachments and I too had the idea of using a rubber band (great minds!) I can see that I'm going to have a lot of fun cleaning every obscure nook with this brilliant device :D

I've been researching for a steam cleaner and although I was leaning towards a steam mop with a detachable portable unit, everything about this cleaner is what I want in regards to functionality and multipurpose use. So I have taken the plunge and ordered one for my cleaning routine going forward. Again my thanks for your help 🙂

Does the Manufacturer of your wood floors recommend steam cleaning? Wood is porous, won't the steam get into the wood fibres and cause damage, even if just brief passes? Future warranty claims might be rejected.

Apologies that I have been so absent from this thread! If I want a fragrance I add a drop of essential oil to the cloth as I steam rather than in the machine. Hope that helps! But remember that if you have cats or pets, essential oils may not be the best bet for you as many of them can be toxic to household pets!

The cord dies not wrap up while you are cleaning...it is just a long cord following you and getting in the way. It wraps up nicely when you are done. I have had 2: both leaked from the bottom.. The hose snarls and tangles..very cheap material. Window cleaner attachment good. Good steam pressure. Back to the drawing board though.

You should NEVER use steam cleaning on a wood floor. Wood and water just do not mix. Cleaning a wood floor with regular water followed by drying is ok but steam will penetrate the fibres and can cause buckling and warping. If it has a finish, it will cause the finish to separate over time as well. Ask your hardwood supplier what they say and don't take the advice of youtube vloggers and assume they have a clue about anything. This lady is not going to pay for your ruined hardwood floors when they start to show damage in a couple of years.
@terramissildine234

Thanks for your thoughtful comment! I don’t disagree with much of what you said. In the video I clearly state that steam cleaning is definitely not something that I do or recommend on a regular basis for wood flooring and not to do it at all unless the finish on your floor is intact. I also always recommend that people inform themselves and make conscientious choices. This video is a review for a steam cleaner, not a wood floor care video… and I would venture that if a homeowner is cleaning their floor in any way at all, it involves water in some fashion, just hopefully responsibly. Thanks for watching!
