Thanks for sharing that. Perhaps I'm not convinced at all of that product... The mirror still looks dirty after

Yeah the water spots are pretty bad on my mirror. For camera lenses, eyepieces and other sealed optics this stuff works great.

Yeah like I said the water deposits are a different process but for sealed optics this stuff is a dream.

Hi Deep Sky! I know that many have commented on the before and after images. Initially I decided against getting the First Contact after seeing your video. I have two questions if you don't mind answering them. 1) would you buy and use First Contact again for cleaning your mirror? and 2) what size bottle did you buy for your mirror. I am cleaning a 20" mirror so my application will be similar. Thanks in advance.

@@learnguitarat6043 I would. I would also get the water spot remover for the water spots left by dew. I can’t recall which bottle but it was one of their larger ones and I got the spray bottle with it.

@@DeepSkyDude Yes - I ordered both. I believe this will work. If it does, it would eliminate the need to remove my optics which is always a dangerous option..

Nice demonstration, did you wear any kind of a face mask. Seems like that stuff could be pretty bad for your lungs if you breathed it in?

Thanks! I did not as I didn’t really see anything in their literature about it. It’s probably not a bad idea if you’re doing it in a small, unventilated space. Doing it outside it wasn’t an issue.

I have a 5 inch Reflector. Been Using it for An Year now. I'm quite afraid of Getting it cleaned, It's not affecting The Views through the Eyepiece or Camera At all. How Often do you think it's Ideal to Clean the Mirror?
@DeepSkyDude

I honestly don’t clean my optics very much. As you said the dust really doesn’t do much to our views. I’ve owned this 22” since early 2018 and I’ve cleaned this mirror twice. 😃

What? Is completely removed all the particulate from the surface. I explained pretty clearly that it left the water spots.

@@DeepSkyDude the only best way is to clean it by water. Alternative methods are pricier and less effective.

@@viktorivanov1013 your initial claim was “you do not remove anything”. That claim is incorrect. Of course water will remove particulates and water spots but, like I explained in the video, sometimes water cannot be used on certain optics. Sealed tube optics like SCT’s and Maksutov’s cannot be cleaned with soap and water. So…
