Cleaning A Disgusting Bilge | Arima Sea Ranger Boat Restoration | EP: 1

Here’s video number 1 of my project Sea Ranger video series.
In this video I pull the fuel tank out, clean the bilge, and remove the control for the outboard. This is the beginning in getting started with the rewire and everything else.

AJ I Like the new boat, This will be my next boat for sure . My gas tank looked somewhat like yours and I looked to buy a new one but found out they weren't available for the SC 17 ' . After power washing mine like you did , I reinstalled it and it works great. Good luck with the new boat looks awesome. Have fun.

Thank you Johnny! Did you get your tank all set up and get out there for some bugs ?? Hopefully my tank comes out as clean as yours did, mine still is dirty as hell though. I really need to put in some extra elbow grease to get it clean, lol. This time around, cleaning is taking up a lot of my time. The SR is nice, but fishing from it is a little more changeling imo, especially with maneuvering. he SC's are awesome boats, don't rush in moving up from your 17.

I will do a lot of the same as I did with my 17, except I don't need to replace the panels since they're already starboard and I don't need to do any major painting (gelcoating).

I got the same boat Sea Ranger 19. My garboard drain is bad. I need to replace it. I'm wondering, can you see and access the drain hole from the inside after you removed the fuel tank? The VDO/picture is not clear or close up to the drain hole. Thanks

Cool boat..If you have the original plastic bilge drain, you can remove it from outside, but I highly suggest removing your fuel tank. Reason is once you put in your new drain tube, you’re going to want to make sure the sealant is smeared around the tube to make sure it’s water tight. To remove the drain tube, typically there are 3 screws holding it in place along with some sealant. Once you remove those 3 screws IF your sealant has failed, it will easily come out. If not, I used a 1” spade drill bit to remove it. Check out this video of when I replaced mine. Fast forward to the 8:50 mark. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4TNi3qforpmhs0 If you’re replacing it with the same drain tube, buy the Moeller 020303-10 drain tube, it matches right up. Then use either 4200 sealant or Boatlife Lifeseal sealant, do not use 5200, to seal everything back up.
