Some random guy who gets paid nothing does what takes 16 man hours in about an hour. No surprise the end product is garbage. Dealerships always look to where they can maximize the most profits, and unfortunately they figure delivering a sub par product to a client is the easiest way. I'd go so far as to make them pay a professional if they washed my vehicle at all during service. I vehemently request no wash or detailing service as I do my own professional level work .

I bought some mirror hangars that say don't wash the car when I take mine in to Genesis. I put one on the mirror, one on the seat, and also tell the service rep to let them know not to wash my car. I don't care if I had a Mercedes, BMW, Volvo, anything. After seeing on Reddit how car dealerships 'clean' the customers cars, there's no way I'd let them touch mine.
@soulodoms8290 Жыл бұрын
Very good video. The fact that you dried the entire car off with compressed air instead of coming into contact with the paint with a drying towel, ect is THE BEST WAY to dry a car/truck. Even if you don't have a big enough air compressor, you can always use a vacuum on the blower side to blow the car/truck off. Always make sure the vacuum hose is clean on the inside. You don't want to blow debris onto the paint and scratch it up.

The Audi RS3 models were going for roughly $40-$45k before covid & all this craziness. Now, a model 2018 & below will still go for around the $45-$50k range but going into 2019+ your looking at about $55-$65k depending on options. The new 2021-2022 models are close to the $70k mark. I found it collects a lot of dust, and the best way to get rid of this dust is with a drill brush. I do not recommend using it on high end cars obviously, just shared my experience.

In the UK, they are on minimum wage so they aren’t specialised, they are just their to make a car look clean. I personally don’t care but if you do, don’t let them ever wash or vacuum your car if it has a service as they are likely not washing it too safely. White cars not much of an issue though.

Great job. Nicely done. But please consider the following: 13:31 and 13:46 and 17:40 (are you sitting on the seat or the door sill?) and 17:50 and 18:35... Respect the seats! You need to clean the doors and seats without sitting sideways on seat bolsters. It's so easy to clean the doors from outside of the car. And 90% of the seats can be cleaned by leaning in, rather than sitting on the seat edges. Easier than what you're doing in this video, actually. The edges of car seats are usually the first to show signs of wear (wrinkles, cracks, etc.), and sitting on them sideways while cleaning is just unnecessary. You're putting those seat bolsters through the equivalent of months of wear in just one detail. For cleaning the doors, kneeling outside the door is easier. For cleaning the seats, reaching in instead of sitting sideways and twisting is easier. When you do have to sit in the car, try to sit square instead of crushing the bolsters. Your current approach makes me cringe. The right approach preserves the seats AND makes your job easier. But still, very good detail.

Question for the clay bar, do we use literally one side for the whole vehicle or do we flip it for every different side. Also will it take more then one for a whole vehicle?
@cameroncurtis24292 жыл бұрын
When I clay, I use a piece that’s the size of a 50 cent piece. Maybe a little bigger. Use one side on one section, flip for next section. Then knead the clay piece, flatten back out and go to next section. After a couple kneads Id the clay surface is tacky get a new piece.
@cameroncurtis24292 жыл бұрын
Or just a clay towel, those work well too in my experience
@AntEloftheHouseofEl2 жыл бұрын
This all depends on the quality of the clay you use and the level of contamination on the paintwork. If it is light, use a good quality clay mitt. If its heavy, use a clay bar. But buy good quality and ALWAYS start with the lightest grade you can get. Soak it in warm water to make it softer and then use apricot sized pieces. Work, fold, kneed, work, fold, kneed until you can no longer get a clean surface. Then bin it and go to your bucket/jug for a new piece. AND KEEP IT LUBED LIKE YOU'RE ON A BLOODY PORNO SET! 🤣 But I would say, avoid claying unless you are planning to / are prepared to polish next, as you will almost always get a bit of marring of the paint.
