How would you get mud dauber nest out from behind a interior vent? I guess the people who had the car before me left it in their garage with the windows down. I have found one behind most of the vents. I am trying to figure out the best way to remove them without getting too much of the dried mud farther down in to the system. Only thing I can come up with is. Put the fan on high and try to break the nests up while also trying to vacuum up the pieces with a little vacuum wand. Thanks for any help you can think of.

I admire Mitch and the work he does. He inspired me to detail some cars as a side hustle. I did my first car today and it was awful. Way more work than I ever imagined. Im used to detailing my own car which is already clean compared to most people’s. I was exhausted after 4 hours in my garage in hot humid Florida. My carpet/ upholstery machine broke mid way. Then a vent louver broke as I was cleaning the vent and now I feeI terrible. I have one more car to do tomorrow. Then never again! Thankfully it’s a bit cleaner and has leather instead of cloth. Best to leave this work to the pros. I’ll just keep my own car clean and enjoy watching Mitch work LOL

Defintely example of "diamond in the rough" as the saying goes. Mazda, Blue, manual transmission - love it and would love to own it or similar. Next thing I would do is trip thru auto repair shop to have most or all of the fluids changes and checked over then off to a body shop after that. Considering what they get for a brand new Mazda 3 w/manual - could justify expenditure(s) into this one no problem. 👍

Heyy my mum had one of these same year and colour except it was a hatchback! It was our shared daily driver for 6-7 years then it got passed onto my brother, who unfortunately got into a crash not long after getting it and wrote it off :( It had just over 200K kms. Great reliable cars, its so cool to see one being detailed. In Australia interior is almost exactly the same except for steering wheel controls and seats are slightly different

The Mazda 3 cleaned up well. That color blue is one of my favorites so thanks for making it gleam like that. Maybe someone spilled a bag of bird seed, but it's strange that it didn't get mice like we have seen in other details. The rust was there, but some of the clear coat looked like it was left. I am sorry that your co-workers were mean to you. Sometimes in large organizations, it's like the hunger games. I am so impressed and happy that you got help. That shows not only courage, but determination to make positive changes. That's great to hear. I am excited to see the new Yard Geek video tomorrow. That's gonna be so much fun! I hope someone was paid to take that away. That vehicle would not pass it's annual safety inspection in the UK. The cill/rocker panel would need to be welded, as would the rear arches and drivers door (No structural rust or sharp edges to body panels allowed) plus the failed transmission. Candidate for the breakers. At least the salvaged parts would be clean!

Oh the Mazda 3 is the cooler Ford focus. Smaller, more reliable (at least the ones we got, as they were all built in Japan). Very spartan but it was just what people needed. Unfortunately they didn't import any manuals. Most of these ran well into 300000km and were sent to scrapyards because they were at a point minor repairs exceeded the value of the car. Sad really, as cars don't really rust here.

@@kittenbrown2484 yeah, you can get new body panels and drill out the spot welds and weld in new ones, takes a lot of time and effort, and it costs a lot for someone to do it. After all that you need to get paint on the new panels and blend the old paint to the new stuff. Most of the time it’s just not worth it

those mazdas lasted about 3 winters before they completely rusted out, honestly surprised its in such good shape. i swear they used rust inhibitors when building those things, its like they rust straight from the factory.

Question. With that much water being applied to the carpets, how does that not ruin the carpet via sinking through? That is what amazes me when you do the interior. I keep thinking dang that is a lot of water!

Think…extractor…that is the key to carpet and seats. I have learned ALOT from Mitch about the various quality of carpet and how that plays into the final possibility of getting it as clean as possible.

Great work on this older Mazda 3. The carpets in these are extremely low quality, so I know the dedication that went into getting them this clean.

For those doubting, the dot number on the tires (3221) really confirms the car was sat for around 2 years :)

Great job. I remember when these were newer and the city i lived in in Australia, townsville the Mazda 3 and Mitsubishi Lancer I owned were so popular you couldn't go 10 spaces in a parking lot without seeing a Mazda or Mitsubishi. To see a Mazda in this state is such a shane to me. Great little cars still look good all these years later.

I have cleaned a few car over the years and I have never seen sand like in this video, spread out evenly and resting on top of the carpet, dirt usually sit in layers and you have sections where the dirt naturally would be more pushed into the carpet, like where people rest the legs, some layers are compact while others are more loose. Are you trying to make the cars look worse than what they are and how do you keep your sneakers that clean?

Great to see an on-line mental health sponsor. On the prayer line today, we heard of yet another high school student committing suicide. Found by her siblings. That will mess them up for years.
