It’s not what I was expecting either…..being a CD collector for over 30 years I decided to resurrect my vinyl collection stemming back to the 60s…I have a few album looking like car park frisbees…just shows how much we cared about our vinyl in our youth…anyway, enjoyable video…

Nice cleaning job. I’ve picked up scratched records from charity shops thinking I’d only use the covers and have been surprised how well they play after cleaning.

A great cleaning video. I went through the same cleaning and revisiting routine when I worked from home during COVID. I placed my albums in a clear outer sleeve to protect the cover. My "Dynasty" CD definitely sounds better than my vinyl copy. "Dynasty" was definitely odd on its initial release. A Disco album, yikes! Although, it is one of my favorite albums from KISS. Signed, A vinyl fan from the U.S.

If a scratch cant be felt with your finger tip it will play fine. I like how you used baby brush and the label clamp! I have always cleaned my records with water and dish soap using soft terry cloth.

My first concert was Judas Priest/KISS on their Dynasty Tour, Sept. 1979. I use one of those label saver devices also, they're great. I usually take a piece paper towel and wet it with a 91% alcohol/distilled water solution and clean the dead wax area before I clamp the record. Better contact between clamp and disc, no dirt on the rubber seal ring. I also squirt a little bit of the alcohol/distilled water on the rag before I wipe it down. I find using a dry cloth introduces static.

I admire you to take the patience to do this cleaning. I simply clean mine with a spray I buy and a white cloth that's it.

Don't forget they've been exposed to flood water and are in bad shape. I'm afraid a wipe isn't going to do it. Thanks for watching.

frisbee in a carpark! haha i have found no more gaps has always done the trick with the deeper cracks, although some of yours look tony greig's key worthy

I have the distinct impression that moderate use of a latex school eraser would considerably lessen the black ringwear on the cover and on the backcover.

I like to also use sleeves for the outer jacket too. Keeps dust off and protects the jacket.

Nice one. I still have my copy from 1979 which was probably a birthday or Christmas gift making me 9 years old at the time. It took a beating as one might imagine but I’m going to see what I can do for it. Hard to give up on an inner sleeve like that, even if you should, right?

Nice job! I use a similar technique to clean my records, but I'm not as thorough: wash once, no hairdryer. But on the evidence of the first two, you are getting better results, so I guess I have to follow your lead now...

You should place the jacket in a plastic outer sleeve to protect it

Light scratches don't normally effect playback , it's deep scratches and the problem

No matter what merhod I've tried my records still sound the same after washing.pops and crackle still prominent.the only difference i do notice sometimes is that the vocals seem more clearer.

Same here, only when I discovered cleaning with wood glue did the pops and clicks go away.

I really hate scratched vinyl,,the skipping and crackling is sometimes unpleasant,,some people like it,,it gives character,,thank god they reissue now on harder to get copies or imports, but there's nothing like the original,i myself are a vinyl hound,❤
