In pt1: • Cleaning and Servicing... of this series, I dismantled and cleaned the muffler box, exhaust elbow, turbo and checked the impeller and water pump pipes.
In pt2: • Cleaning and Servicing... , I took apart and cleaned the oil cooler.
In this video - pt3 - I remove the heat exchanger/aftercooler insert, give it a clean and re-assemble everything back together.. with mixed results.
Note to self - count the oil seals coming off - and count the new ones going in!

FYI the type of thermometer you used to check the thermostat cannot give accurate readings of liquids or wet/shiny objects.

Fwiw, I repaired a corroded riser spigot on a Volvo 7.4 petrol engine using Belzona and it lasted years. I used coffee cans and pvc pipe as inside and outside molds!

Yes that’s one outstanding feature of the Amels.. the engine bay. Although they do sacrifice a lot of interior space for such a maintenance luxury!

Well done, of course it takes some hiccups to become better in "parts management". Just make a box containing all the new parts you want to use as replacement.. Box should be empty after all is done..Anyway, no pain, no gain... this happens to the best of us as well...

Buenas. A las juntas tóricas no se les aplica grasa, solamente vaselina neutra, ya que la grasa descompone con temperatura esas gomas

Para rectificar superficies planas, pega una hoja de lija de agua fina sobre un cristal o espejo y roza la superficie a planificar

Para reparar la tapa del termostato, colocas papel encerado de cocina, y rellenas con un tubo quedé en su forma y por el exterior, después de limpiar el sulfato, aplica nural 21, 2 componentes , y después lija para dejar igualada la superficie

Buenas Para la limpieza interior tubos, lo mejor es utilizar limpiadores de cepillo de bronce, se encuentran en donde vendan armas ya que es lo que se utiliza para limpiar el ánima rallada de estas, hay que buscar el cepillo para el calibre adecuado a diámetro interior y estos mismos disponen de cepillo en plástico, bronce y otro de trapo

Cuando quites tubos de goma y después quieras colocarlos en su sitio, utiliza vaselina neutra y con un dedo le das interiormente a los mismos, entrará más suave y protegerá exteriormente las piezas metalicas, esta misma la puedes utilizar en conectores eléctricos y bornas y bornes bateria

Man do you have the room to work on this... I am looking to rebuild my TMD22B as a replacement D2-75 is around $18,400. I am concerned about how much live the heat exchanger has left on it as it was installed around 1998.
