I imagine you mark the filters up somehow to identify the high and low filters since the wrapping is removed (?)

We placed them in order on the counter. The filter inside is fairly easy to see the colors. Making a list of the order as you take them apart, would work.

This is great info. I have such difficulty with the waste of these filters since they can't be recycled. I didn't think abt it when buying the spa and I like that I can stretch the filters out before they become landfill.

Thank you. Glad you can get more use out of those filters. Good luck!

Brilliant! Hot many times do you estimate you can do this before you need to buy a new filter?

Great video, and wonder if additional cleaning with compressed air could be further improving the results.

@@donnikakerinna what we really need to find out is what grades the filter cloth is, rips too soon.

@@mariusl923 Per the Arctic Spa site, "We use 5 different types of media in the filters that allow each layer to catch the size of particle it was designed to. The result is amazingly clean water and significantly improved filter longevity." I would contact them for further information the materials.

The red seems to be 300 um(red) and progressively lower. The lowest specified on a reseller for custom filters are 15(blue) yellow is 50, grey is 25. They also have a smaller purple one with smaller "pouch" at 10 um

We just did this before I came here just to read the comments. We wiped them out a bit and then blue compressed air back into the bag. Then rinsed some more. It works good and made the job quite a bit faster.

Thanks. We don't even use the tub that much and the filters still don't last very long. We back blew them with compressed air after scrubbing a bit. Then rinsed some more. It made the job a lot quicker. Carefuly. Im thinking a hose nozzle would word also. Does Doing this void any warranty on the rub?
@donnikakerinna
@donnikakerinna Жыл бұрын
Thanks. We have asked the arctic spa rep who said it does not void the warranty but you should check with your warranty coverage for your individual needs. It may not be the same answer for all. I don't know.

I break them down and put them in my front load washing machine with a couple of tea towels and a little laundry detergent put it on gentle cycle and poof brand new.

Sounds easy. My question would be soap in the tub. Our unit is a salt and any residue would come out in the tub.

@@donnikakerinna Mines a salt water tub as well so I use an environmentally friendly soap. I have 2 sets of filters and alternate them ...been doing it for 3 years and zero issues.

I'm shopping around for a spa, and this is by far the biggest disappointment I see for Arctic. How long until they start gluing the cartridge closed or adding a chip to brick it? I even noticed someone offers a 3d printed adapter so that you can run conventional (and much less expensive) round filters. Such a bummer that Arctic doesn't address this customer-issue that is making them gobs of money.

I agree. It's a cash cow like so many other things: printers & the ink, cell phones, cars and filters, etc. Seems like they make things to fail on purpose when they could be made better or last longer.

Hi. .Can you tell me what order the colors go in on the standard side? I took it apart and forgot to write down the order.
@donnikakerinna
@donnikakerinna Жыл бұрын
They are in order from most course to finest top to bottom. The finest material is the one at the bottom of the entire filter. I don’t remember the colors for each. Colors should be visible in the video. Also they stack in order of thickest material on top to the thinnest, or finest at the bottom.

I have a quick question on your artic spa. I'm guessing you have a salt water system. How often do u shock you hot tub.
@donnikakerinna
@donnikakerinna Жыл бұрын
Our spa is a salt spa so we don’t shock it. We use Arctic Spa Salt Water Balance once a month per the instructions on the bottle.
@rosipm101
@rosipm101 Жыл бұрын
They gave us a bottle of some sort of shock treatment with our articles spa. They said to use it if you've had a baby or a lot of people, because inevitably somebody has peed. We've never needed to use it.

Absolute waste of money and cash grab by the dealers/manufacturer. And they can't be recycled - just polluting the landfill.

I understand. It is a shame that they are not intended to last longer. Hope this helps them to last longer for you and others.
