Cleaning Corroded wet Car fuse box,opel, zafira

My car went to a car wash and would not started then, so here is what I have done don't be tempted to buy another fuse box,it will not work as it needs programming,I swapped mine and both car showed Immobiliser so that trick did not work,just hair dryer it and put in radiator for about half an hour

Thanks for the idea !! I had the same problem and fixed it by opening the box you shook. There was one wire with a connector without the nut. I find one that fit, tighten the connection and my intermittent starting issue is solved.

we recently had some.rain and the car had all sorts of warning lights when i started to use the wipers, the rev meter stopped working, speedo also stopped working. i did nit have full power but the engine was running. got home , wouldnt start, rac was called , they took the fuse box off and saw a small water i gress by the wiper fuse, the fise box wasnt closed properly. he cleaned the area and dried.it with tissue . the car started and no warning lights, i started the car the following cold morning and it was playing up again, i assume the water had not dried up.properly. i got to work and fortunatly it was a sunny day, so i opened the fuse box cover and left it to a side and faced the car towards the sun... eventually it done the job, the water dried up, the car started normally , still.had abs warning light, after a couple of hours the abs light went off and the engine management light came on. as i was driving home the engineanagement light went off and the car seems as before. no issues, please ensure your fuse box cover is clipped on properly . i was lucky not to have any major issues with this.

The Box Is called a T.I.P.U Total Integrated Power Unit. they do like a fault if lid is not on.

have you checked first the small fuse,the main issue for the loss of electric is behind this fuse box there is small fuse box as well inside there are 2 big purple fuse ,this is the mother of trouble because there is wire going all the way to the battery

Remove and dry ,also get contact spray cleaner from Halford £6.00 leave it for few hours or a day and u should be fine

What was the problem? I maybe hav the same. Is clicking but no crank..... if i take the 12v plus wire and put to tha relay of starter it works, even the engine is starting if the key contact is on. So the starter seems apparently be fine. Thanks!

check behind the battery ,where there is a fuse box,there are 2 fuse boxes now, the small fuse box which has 2 big purple fuse ,shake it slow ,and try to start again,

I don't have current when is not working the solenoid, not because he is defect. I took it off and looks great, good. I clean it an nothing. Thanks for answer!

Hello Abdul, I don't have time to shake them because the car starts after i stayed just 10-15 seconds. Check is on, but after second start, is dissapear....of course the error are stored and don't dissapear... any other ideea?

Ive got Zafira n the rear fuse box does have a cover, but the light next to it has a crack. Not sure what makes the rear fuse box wet, i had to spray it n get it dry otherwise no lights on the dashboard. Thanks

do you have any crank at all? or just click? Do one at a time: remove the cable behind the boots there are about 4 coloured ,wait a minute and start again, if not then shake the box little or check the box there are 2 fuses ,in case it has blown up, have u tried to jump start? also immobiliser issue , also get an opcom it is a useful tools, I use everyday.

on the boot passenger's side open you will find many wires with plug remove all of them wait 1 minute then replace ,that should work

Hi mate I'm having similar problems, you say it was the small fuse box at the top that was the issue? Did you replace any fuses from it? At first I removed the yellow starter motor fuse relay and put back in and car car fine. But now it's not starting but clicking. I Will try what you suggested, thanks

Your best shot is dry it yourself, be patient for two days at least

Yes I did end up vacuuming and then I opened up my back door out in the sun and I then had no problem except for my back door it won’t open/ close by it’s self no more , I saw videos saying it the lock that won’t latch but what if it has something to do with the fuse box being wet
