I can’t believe that I found this video! And I can’t also believe that still useful and good people exist on the Internet! Thank you so much brother! Your video saved my two amplifiers.

Absolutely brilliant video, to the point.... I bought a second hand amp a few days ago which was very crackly and this video allowed me to fix it and I'm delighted now... my first time fixing a problem on an amp as well, I'm very proud of myself! 😂... thanks so much

Awesome, just got my old amp and guitar out for my daughter and it's crackling. Typed in on here and it's the exact same amp haha. I shall be doing this over the weekend for her. Nice video mate!

I have an old Marshall Valvestate Bi-Chorus 200 Model 8280 2x12 Celestion G12T speakers ... it has alot of static noise with the pots and at times cuts out altogether Remedy?

Nice tutorial. Simple and useful. Is it possible that this solution works for unresponsive knobs? I mean not completely unresponsive but my bass knob doesnt seem to work properly.

Go ahead and try. Don't think it will do any harm. Glad you liked the video!

Going to try this on my Lead 12, getting lots of noise when turning the dials at the moment. Edit: my speaker cable was so short I've had to disconnect it to remove the box, will have to solder back on after.

On my ROLAND JC 50 the potentiometers are cleaned with WD 40, which has oil in it. The amplifier has been working great for 10 years.
@pahkina11672 жыл бұрын
I don't recommend oil.
@wolfpack788115 жыл бұрын
Do you have to de charge the capacitors before touching in there? Never tried this before
@pahkina11675 жыл бұрын
Don’t know, I just unplugged the amp from 240V and waited some time before opening the cover.
@roundtheloopandback3 жыл бұрын
OK, people listen carefully, do not touch capacitors that are charged, some of them hold enough charge to kill you.

Is there any danger in spraying on the board? Or plugging it back in while it's still wet? Did you wipe it off?
@pahkina11675 жыл бұрын
This spray vaporizes quickly, no need to wipe.
@Blackdog48185 жыл бұрын
I have the same amp, but there doesn't appear to be holes in the pentiometer. Will the oil (liquid grease?) get in through to the inside?
@pahkina11675 жыл бұрын
Blackdog4818 Yes there’s actually not much oil I think, it just freezes the dirt. Spray from different angles and many times, hope it works.

Some contact cleaners are flamable until dry, wait until everything is bone dry (deoxit d5 is definitely flammable while you wait and takes 5 to 10 mins to dry)

Why are you pulling off the buttons and spraying them on from the front? The controls have a hole on the inside! You spray the spray in there. That's easier. I have 8 Marshall Lead 12(reverb) I've done it so many times.. That's what the holes in the controls are for.

Nice. I'm going to try to something similar on Marshall Valvestate. First time I've ever seen someone NOT use De-ox-it spray. I've been using it and I think it's okay. Curious about the brand shown here. Thanks for the great video!

Deoxit does not have oil in it either
@raymondjiii2 жыл бұрын
@@matthewmcdonald4222 there are three versions of Deoxit: D5, DN5, and D100. D100 has no solvents but D5 is highly flammable, feels like oil, contains aliphatic hydrocarbon. Given the residue it leaves behind - I think it has some oil based substance. It does work though so I’ll keep using it until I find something better.
@matthewmcdonald42222 жыл бұрын
Deoxit D5 does not have oil in it and as for being flamable who cares because I'm not putting a lighter up to it and it dries in seconds
@raymondjiii2 жыл бұрын
@@matthewmcdonald4222 I disagree. I can wipe the residue off with my fingers, a cloth, days after.

@@raymondjiii then you must be over spraying I don't know what to tell you nobody else has said that
@darthjump3 жыл бұрын
Maybe do it upside down so your spray doesn´t flow over the main circuitboard.
