Your health IS your number 1 priority! It does not matter if your house is clean and tidy. If your work is fulfilling, or how much you love your family, because when health gets bad all the rest goes down too. Advocate for yourself, take care of yourself first! The rest will fall into place. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Audrey, you're such as inspiration to me. I get in those dark pits and do nothing. No shower, no nothing. Im 63 and live alone so I don't have a lot to keep up with. My home is a camper so it's just the essentials or I'm cluttered. My biggest issue is putting things off because i just dont feel like doing them. I've gone from taking care of my home and me to not taking a shower because who is going to know? Im working on that now. You and in my thoughts and prayers. I have so much respect for you and I'm so glad I found your channel. ❤❤❤❤

Just like you I can see it coming and I’ve never thought about course correcting and going around it - simply taking a different route. Girl, you’re an inspiration to all of us, young and old. And you have a whole group of prayer warriors. Praying for you. Why? Because I love you.

As a Sonographer for over 20 years I can assure you that you will ok. I’m going to assume it’s a thyroid nodule which often times are benign but second to that they are extremely extremely common. If by chance it’s not benign, I can assure you, you will be ok. You will have a biopsy. And go from there. The smaller lesion was likely mislabeled or misread by the radiologist. Or you have multiple thyroid nodules, which most people have. Hopefully this helps. I know it can be scary but when you have the opportunity to hear from people that work in the field everyday, sometimes it can bring you some peace. This happens more time that any of us know that you’ll go in for one thing and they find something else. I’m glad the Sonographer put it in their report. That’s not something they all will do nor will many hospitals even allow us to mention other pathology that we find. ❤

@OrganizedChaos4 I've never seen your channel before, but it just popped up in my feed. A month after I had our 5th baby in 2017, it was accidently discovered that I had a nodule on my thyroid. It was borderline a size of concern but they went ahead and biopsied it anyway. The ENT told me I had a better chance of getting struck by lightning twice in the same day than it being thyroid cancer. The team doing the biopsy said they could assure me I would be fine and they doubted it was cancerous. This gave me a false sense of security that I was fine. A week later I got a call from the ENT apologizing to me for saying anything because it was cancer and my thyroid had to be removed ASAP. A week and a half later I had my whole thyroid removed. The ENT had told me I had papillary carcinoma of my thyroid and that there was a good chance I would be okay after having it removed. He told me before he called me he had to tell a patient that they had thyroid cancer but that it was Anaplastic thyroid carcinoma which there is nothing that can be done for that. It is deadly. Having been a nurse many years ago, the number one thing we were always taught is to never make assumptions or tell patients they were going to be just fine. I was told by my Ent to tell my family and not to give anyone a false hope that I would be okay. Having just had baby number 5, I was emotional but kept my faith nonetheless. 7 years later, I have 8 kids and am cancer free. I take levothyroxine everyday for life but everything went okay since my thyroidectomy. Don't lose hope, but also take opinions with a grain of salt until you have answers. Prayers that everything will be okay! ❤

Hi Audrey! I’ve been a follower for quite some time. I will be 7 years post total thyroidectomy later this month. I went thru the ultrasound and then FNA. It didn’t hurt by the way. I was diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer. I was told it was only on one side but my ENT told me I should just have my whole thyroid removed to avoid a second surgery in case I needed one later on. Sure enough I had it on the other side once they sent it off to pathology. I’m hoping your nodule is benign. It’s tough at first getting adjusted to a new normal and yeah it sucks to be dependent on a med to keep me alive but I’m here and get to watch my two kids grow up. They are 20 and 15 now. I’m a single Mom and they are what keep me going. I’m here if you have questions.

Audrey, grace upon grace. When I was 40 (with 12 and 8 year old boys) I went through something very similar. My biopsy (same as you will have - didn't hurt, was quick, and done in my surgeon's office) wasn't conclusive so the surgeon said when I woke either part or all my thyroid would be gone, and the length of surgery would depend on results of the quick biospy of tissue removed. I had to give every moment of every day to the Lord, while praying I would be able to take care of my kids and disabled husband. Thankfully, no cancer. I did need to go on thyroid replacement meds because the remaining portion of my thyroid didn't produce enough hormone. I'm very appreciative of your insight on keeping up with life - though I'm now in my late 60s and should have this all figured out :D

I’m glad to know you, my new friend. I am experiencing similar, with a 10cm pelvic mass and a full hysterectomy in 7 days. I wasn’t able to endure the pain of a biopsy last week, but it has to come out, and I’m just trusting God to sustain me in the preparation and whatever will come. I had a complete hysterectomy 30 years ago at age 30 for severe endometriosis’. Best decision of my life! You will need lots of rest afterward (like any surgery). Don’t expect too much of your self for about two weeks. Then, very light activity. As always, after 30 years, I’m appalled that biopsies on female parts still do not regularly include some sort of sedation and pain relief. 😠

@ I’m absolutely thrilled that the procedure was able to be done laporascopically, and apparently the mass was benign! Yes, I am taking it slow, especially with the emotional parts, tending lovingly with self care and cozy comforts. My challenge will be asking for and allowing help!

@ So very glad things have at least improved for the surgery! My scar is about seven inches long and crooked 🫤 My doctor joked with me in recovery that he must have been drunk when he made that cut 😳 not so funny! Are you having gas pains under your shoulder blades? The two laparoscopic procedures I had before the hysterectomy gave me horrible pains from the gas they inflate the abdomen with. Hope they’ve worked on reducing that discomfort after surgery. I’m very glad the mass was benign! Rest and ask for help. You deserve to heal slowly & completely! 💐

Passing a neighbor first thing this morning, I was reminded to not try to be a martyr right now and obey the lifting restrictions. I love my Jesus and couldn’t be doing this without his intercession for grace and strength. Thank you for your inquiry- I feel cared about and not alone in this specific situation, just keep singing and praising and asking God for wisdom in my decisions large and small.

7 years ago, I had multiple nodules on my thyroid. A couple were in the range of 6-8 cm, several 2-3cm, and a number of smaller ones. My TSH and T3/T4 was always fine. Turned out TPO was sky high but had never been tested prior. I got the FNA biopsy and that was all clear. But ended up having a partial thyroidectomy because one of the larger nodules was pressing against my vocal chords and I had lost my voice almost entirely. The doc thought the nodules had been growing for at least 10-15 years. When they sent the removed thyroid lobe and isthmus to the lab, they found that everything was fine, just consistent with Hashimotos. I honestly wish they would have taken the whole thing out since the other half has a bunch of smaller nodules but oh well. That said - I have a ton of anxiety around medical stuff (understatement), and sometimes pass out from vasovagal syncope over stupid little stuff. But the FNA wasn't bad at all and I didn't even get light headed :). I was comfortable and relaxed the whole time and the doctors were really kind and reassuring. They'll numb everything well. My doc told me if I needed it numbed better to let them know. I think it was just topical but maybe they gave an anesthetic shot after putting the topical stuff on. I don't recall. Basically I just sat there completely still while they got what they needed. The docs were really friendly and communicative. The weirdest part was having people that close to my face lol. If memory serves, one person held a sono up to my neck as the other one did the actual biopsy. The sensation of the needle was different-y. It didn't hurt and it wasn't uncomfortable at all. It was just 'oh weird, there's something poking around where there's normally not something poking around' lol Anyway, they'd get a sample or two and then would take it back to have a pathologist check to make sure the sample was adequate. Since I had multiple nodules, there were several rounds of poking then having pathology give a thumbs up or down to. I think like one or two of the samples weren't quality enough for the lab so they redid those. It's not unusual or concerning to need to try again. Honestly the worst part was probably for the doctors. I tend to crack really stupid jokes as a medical anxiety defense mechanism. They suffered 😂 I'm glad you researched all of this, particularly seeing that so much of the possibilities are "wait and see" or are very treatable. Whatever you find out, there's likely a supportive community on Reddit for it. :) I hope all goes well for you!

@@OrganizedChaos4 mine yesterday was exactly like this. It was more of a pressure than the "bee sting" they talk about. I think the numbing shot was more than the sample gathering. The pressure went up into my ear, so don't let that concern you. Thankfully just two stabs, they went to the hall and pathology was waiting with a microscope. He came back in and said they were good and I could go. So now just the waiting for the results. Continued prayers for us both. I love your community and reading all the inspiring comments here. My sister had thyroid cancer and was told it was the best kind to have because it stays within the thyroid and is easy to take out and replace with medication. My Mom had the exact same type of cyst, module but hers turned out not to be cancer. You just never know what type you are going to get. Stay strong you will get through this.

I have had 3 biopsies on my thyroid. I felt some discomfort but it was not painful. They will more than likely put some numbing cream or spray on before the biopsy. I will be keeping you in my prayers ❤

I am a thyroid cancer surviver. You found it early, which is a good thing. Mine was early as well. I went in to have half of my thyroid out, they test it while you were on the table, and my other half tested fine. I went home, and 5 days later, the Dr called me to report to the hospital to have the other half out because the cancer had spread. I take meds every morning. No biggie. The biopsy was hell. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. It hurts. I had two and then said NO MORE, just take it out!! The chemo and radiation are not bad for thyroid cancer vs. other cancer. Good luck. You will be good. Stay positive

Wishing you all the very best! A lipoma shouldn’t be a problem. But yes, you’re right in this, check with the doctor and get your facts. Then and only then can you celebrate or worry. I will remember you in my personal prayers 🧡🧡🧡

My prayers are with you and your family. I have undergone scares too. It’s hard to soldier on when that’s all unfolding. It’s a lot to mentally hold up. Jesus holds space for us when we’re there. I know I’m preaching to the choir here, but I pray you feel that love very strongly through these days.

I've had the fine needle aspiration- they will numb the area ( probably will give you a lidocaine gel to rub on the area before you go to your appt) ...was not too bad to deal with ( for me anyway)🙏🏼❤

Look into radio frequency ablation. It may be a good alternative to surgery (if needed). I had it about 6 months ago on a node and it was so much better than surgery.

I totally hear you on finding a mass on my thyroid I know it's scary. And then another time they found a cyst on my ovary. I find out that I have PCOS so many things happen bad in my life. And my house went to hell and you're right it's hard to get out of that. Especially you know when you have so many things going on. Work and family and so forth. I don't have kids so I'm doing this all myself. So we're on different wavelengths. There is no comparison whatsoever here. But what I'm saying is in both different situations we both feel like we're falling down a rabbit hole and we can't get out. So my counselor and I decided that I should hire a company to come into my home and work with me. I don't have a problem getting rid of things I just have a problem being motivated with all my health issues because also I have lupus. And I'm a supervisor and I work in the community in different areas and so I said do you mind signing a NDA she said no I was like perfect. And I said I just need somebody to help me declutter and organize. I don't need somebody to make me ashamed or say you really should get rid of this you're going to feel better I don't need any of that. I just need someone there by my side helping me to be my other two arms and legs and don't take anything personal when I say can you put that here can you put that there. Just know that it's a please and thank you all the time. And my tone might change because I might be frustrated with myself or embarrassed or anything this is nothing to do with you it's not personal. This needs to be a non-emotional thing between us. So this is a big step that I'm taking. Now your channel has changed me and has helped me with making this step. Now whenever I want to buy something I think to myself about whether I need it is this just a want and so forth. And I really appreciate you sharing your story with us and sharing your feelings and so forth. Don't beat yourself up this is like scary situation. And yeah it probably would have made you feel better to do that but honestly you have so many things going on it must have spun your brain like 20,000 times and it's hard to think that way. Now with that said I'm home I can get bigger and cause a restriction in our movement and also can become entangled in different parts of your arm. So I highly recommend it and you do what you want. But the bigger it gets the more restriction it can cause in your arm and entanglement of other parts of inside your arm. And the cut will be smaller. So highly recommend you taking it out now. Now regards to the finding of the tumor on your thyroid I have the same situation. They told me it was benign. But I'm having some symptoms of hard time to swallow this that and the other. They did a barium swallow and I'm like no then they said it was acid reflux I'm like okay. So my doctor is going to do a CBC with a ferritin level. And I can tell you if you have a cancer in your head or neck. So something to think about. I wish you the best God bless and prayers sent to you❤

I have ALOT of thyroid nodules!! I have one that finally reached biopsy size. So, I had a biopsy and found that I have a genetic gene that means that there’s a 30% chance that they could end up cancerous (at that point they weren’t). So, it was recommended that I have a thyroidectomy…that was last year and I still haven’t gotten it out. They want me to have the entire thing out, but I don’t want to live on thyroid meds the rest of my life. Idk if I will ever get it out. You can message me if you need to talk or have any specific questions. Much love to you…I completely understand the feeling of waiting and crying and being scared 💕💕

Ps, I've had a blood clot. My arm was literally going in and out when looking at it & my heart was beating fast. I had a mistep on a pull doen ladder. Ended up going to the ER cuz the advice nurse told me too. Plus my husband was the one that said we should call the advice nurse because I wasn't going to. Found out I got a blood clot in my left leg. They said I was really fortunate because others do pass away from it. Trying to find a doc that would see me right away like they said was needed on Medi-Cal was really hard. My husband drove me around for a couple of days & we prayed. Found someone on the 3rd day & it was just the right doctor for me. Once the clot left he swithced offices. I still had to take monitoring meds of course, but I understand the fear because at 1st I was on the lookout for things they said to be bruises, changes in color, etc.

@OrganizedChaos4 yea, looking back I realize the seriousness of it more. The times after that I knew to keep a lookout. And then with kids, because of time & wanting to still be able to nurse (and afraid they would give a medication I couldn't nurse with) I didn't go the doctor right away, unless it seemed necessary. Even then I did put it off & prob shouldn't have because it turned out I was dehydrated to where my body was shutting down. Wow, that's a lot more than I usually tell ppl. I guess cuz u were sharing your health, and I don't know u personally, idk.

On Thanksgiving 2022, I got a phone call from my Dr. He said they found a 12 x 17 cm tumor in my abdomen and it was probably retroperitoneal liposarcoma. I hung up with him and immediately had to sit down with my two kids for Thanksgiving. I had it removed in January 2023, and found out in February 2023 that the giant tumor was miraculously BENIGN!! The odds it was NOT cancer were so tiny. This is to say- miracles happen. Do NOT lose hope. I will pray for you.

Praying for you! #feelthelove ❤ I had that biopsy done, they do give you the option to sedate, I didn’t do it, and survived, but I wouldn’t do it again, it’s stressful.
