Cleaning my Tesla's front camera well -- east Texas style -- how do y'all want your eggs?

Great Video - Thank you so much. I have been telling other KZbinrs like Chuck Cook about this issue causing the Red Hand issues but "You can lead horses to water but you can't make it drink." The issue is actually from "off-gasing" from the materials in the car. Also can be caused by smoking, Vaping, and excesive cologne. Thanks again and please continue posting great videos.

there are instructions to disasemble the housing and clean it. If you do that it will clean much better. You also might want to recalibrate the cameras after doing that.

My M3 Highland has the same issue. After i took delivery i noticed all of the interior windows were blurry due to the off-gassing of the new plastics. It took a lot of cleaning to remove the greasy glare. That's what i think this is too, not so much moisture. Mine throws red hands when driving into the sun and i get a "clean front camera" error message at the end of my drives. @tesla needs a better DIY solution in my opinion.

Yeah, that's what I think too. And it mainly seems to be with just the new M3s built in the latter half of 2024. I will tell you, I have not had one red hands alert since I did this video of me cleaning it. Not one! Honestly, it wasn't hard at all. But agree that Tesla should make it easier to make sure that this doesn't happen. Thanks for watching, commenting, and hopefully liking and subscribing!

I am not sure they can make it where there is proper air circulation to the cameras but also not get anything on the windshield. At the end of the day you need the air circulation there. And I’m not aware of any way to keep glass from getting a bit flirty over time. It’s just needs to be part of normal cleaning process.

I can't believe that the camera housing isn't airtight so this doesn't happen at all to begin with. This is what's been causing me to have problems with the smart summon. The car would just back up and stop because the front cameras were blocked by condensation on the outside of the windshield. Unfortunately smart summon doesn't use the auto wipe feature.

I think they leave a pocket for just these purposes. But agree the cybercab will likely have airtight and cleaned automatically

Bro it has Defroster lines on it... use the front defroster to clear the Moisture

I did that too. But it didn't take all of it. That housing is pretty well contained. Just got done with an hour of driving today and no red hands!
