Hi Steve, asking this question on sensor related video. Is there on GH6 sensor marking on camera that shows/tells where the sensor is? I've got DJI RS3 pro with Lidar and to configure Lidar and autofocus features I need to message distance from the GH6 sensor to where I've isntalled Lidar. Would appreciate if you could help me with this :) I've also got GH5, hopefully there is a way to know where exactly the sensor is located so I can do the messure. Best regards. Edit: It seems that some cameras have a sign that looks like O with line going through it that marks where the sensor is. I can't find such a thing on my GH6, but maybe you could give me pointers where to start to do the messure from?

Hey, yes this is to tell you the depth of where the sensor is located, so it is marked on the top of the Lumix cameras GH5 icon is located to the left of the fn1 button GH6 icon is located to the right of the audio menu button I haven't used that module but I believe it is set on a fixed hotshoe bracket and you configure it from there. Hope that helps.

@@stevelitton it did help, I found the sign on both gh5 and gh6, thank you Steven. I've tried my hardest to look for them last night, expecting them to be white and did not notice them since they were not easily visible on dark background. Amazing that they are in front of the eyes :) Thank you so much Steven! :)

@@stevelitton Definitly good idea, this camera fits really good with DJI RS3 Pro and Lidar makes it possible to autofocus with cinema lenses and even with standard AF lenses, they work good too. I scanned your whole library for sensor markings but could not find any so that's why I wrote here :)

I will try and dig it out, probably be quicker to just make it again though. Great to hear it works well, I would love to have that gimbal with the Lidar module, sadly it's just not in my budget at the minute. I am still using the older Ronin SC, does the job though.

I went to the beach a few months a go and seems changing lenses a particle sticked to the sensor . Blowing air was not taking it off, did some research and bought a cleaning kit from Adorama for m43 with dry and wet swabs and man it was scary because the wet one just smudged out the sensor and the dry wasn't taking it off. Ended up buying another one called dual power - x size 1.6 16mm because they didn't have the m43 ones , has 2 liquids for dust etc or oil etc, that one did the trick and cleaned the sensor . $60 after I can tell its kinda of scary man .

This vacuum cleaner, as you say, I call an enema :). I think that on the street, it makes sense to put the camera in a transparent large plastic bag and change the lens in it. First, of course, after cleaning the camera around the lens from dust.

🤣 I actually do something close to that, I change the lenses in one of those transparent camera rain covers, only when it's sandy or dusty though.

@@stevelitton There is always dust on the street :). Well, as the same dust got on your matrix, maybe the rain bag is not very good.

@@lnuponom2678 there was literally no chance the sensor was coming back clean. The air was thick with dust most of the day as it was a rally stage and had been dry for days before. Was quite impressed with how little got in there to be fair.

@@stevelitton You are taking a big risk with a new camera. What would you do if she got a lot of dust. I would either not change the lens at all, or go where there is no dust. By the way, professionals do not change lenses, they carry several cameras with different lenses :).

@@lnuponom2678 No point having the camera if you aren't going to use it. I had 2 cameras (GH5 with a different lens on) but still wanted to swap out my lens on the GH6. Having multiple cameras with different lenses is more of a photography thing for things like weddings. It's much harder to do video that way. If it got dirty I would just clean it exactly the way I described in the video.

You clean the sensor exactly like a 25.000$ cine lens. No special product needed. Almost free stuff if you know how to do it. If not just look some Corporate Zeiss vids. It works with the camera off.

I do clean the sensors on my older DSLR cameras all the time but I just worry about taking the risk on mirrorless cameras still in warranty. Do you have any links to those videos? Would be interested to check them out.
