Same, i thought that these boots belonged to an evil person and that they were cursed. As long as you let them underground ut would all be fine but as soon as you dig them up and start washing them/putting them on they would came to life and you had bad luck for the rest of your life and it is unpossible to undo! The shoes afterwards would be walking on its own directing you to some abandoned and haunted shed in which you wil be kept by that evil monster who decides to give you a slow and painfull death. In the end that same person does the same thing over and digs them in the bushes waiting for another lucky man while laughing evil and eating your toenails.
