Welcome to Mom Likely! This weeks extreme cleaning motivation. Today I am getting the kids messy room in order. I am going to be vacuuming real good and mopping the floors. I did declutter the kids clothes a little bit in this cleaning video because we recently did some clothes shopping. Being a working mom it gets overwhelming to keep up with their rooms on a daily and weekly basis because of my schedule so I am still sticking to my cleaning routine of coming in once a month to overhaul their room and get things back in functional order!! That works best for me.

I used to be horrible at cleaning my room. I could just never figure out how to start. Whenever I started making a daily cleaning list with how long each task should take, my cleaning improved drastically. I'm now much older and cleaning just comes to me easily because I'm afraid of bugs. 😂

😂 your face in the beginning! So relatable, my girls are the same they love doing arts and crafts so they make stuff for their dolls, it's the cutest thing but definitely get little pieces of paper everywhere. I like to go in their room every so often and just add a mother's touch. They do pretty good cleaning but definitely need the extra help from me from time to time lol. Thanks for the realness 💕. Have definitely come a long ways! I think I started watching almost 4 years ago! Which is crazy to think it's been that long lol. I've enjoyed the transformations.

@@MomLikely Yes, for sure. I never watched cleaning videos or honestly KZbin rarely ever until 2018 and I saw a video of yours and just took off from there lol. Maybe you could do something in your basement? I know you are very limited on space but maybe have a small space down there if possible for them to do all that at. We were gifted a desk so they utilize it a lot in our living room 😆. Thankfully we have an okay sized living room but can't wait until we can move it into an actual room in the very near future.

Yes basement declutter is on my list and I want to set up a craft station. I have to organize all my declutter. Idk if you saw on instagram story a couple days ago I showed a small storage room in our basement I never showed before and I am trying to organize that area to utilize more of the basement space

We don’t allow eating and drinking in our children’s rooms due to roaches, ants and mice. Just not a good habit to do. Just saying. It might help your littles in their rooms if they ate near the kitchen.

Yeah it absolutely does and food doesn’t stay in their room they may have a few dishes on the table tops but food and dishes don’t make their way to like the floor in other areas.

Mine have snacks etc in their rooms but they eat over a plate and put dishes in the sink and trash in the kitchen trash can. However our bedrooms are on the one level with kitchen, that helps.

@@sunshinenday3439 our life changed drastically once we moved into a 2 story... It doesnt seen like it should matter but it really does. Especially with kids who will find any and every excuse to "do it later" haha I am constantly saying "if you are coming downstairs then bring something with you" in regards to trash or laundry etc. Every time I go up or down I carry something. But that is jist asking for the world with them lol

@@LivingFREE307 I agree that it's a huge difference. I moved from a 1500 sq ft 2 story to a 2000sq ft one story ranch and it's SO much easier to keep clean. Those stairs can feel like a psychological mountain climb throughout the day!!

I think I would say, “I’m ONLY washing clothes put down the laundry shoot!” They are plenty old enough to do better job keeping their rooms cleaner. That should just be part of their responsibility. But, I do love your videos and find them very motivational. Keep them coming!

You seem like lovely people and I enjoy your videos. I’m not dissing you but you’re really not teaching them to be well rounded thoughtful people by doing everything for them? I get that kids can be messy but those rooms look like a bomb has gone off! A wee tidy up every night before bed would help them understand that they need to be responsible for their own mess or they’ll expect that from their partners later in life. x

Exactly my purpose for this. I just did my others daughter room too. My main reason for this is so that they can have a manageable amount of things and do it their self. I could not keep up with this stuff so I no longer could mentally try to push them to.

Dear parents! When Your kids are very good behaviour all the time and always taking good care of their things, keeping their rooms very clean, loving their favorite things and want to make nice childhood collections of their things: books, clothes, toys, video games, clothes, DVDs and etc, then donataing is very wrong thing to do. If You have few space then storage boxes and shelves will help You out and Your kids will be very happy and thankful then, if they can keep their favourite things. Childhood things are very valuable and it is very sad, if they won’t see them anymore in their life. Every child should have the right to keep their things, if they can take good care of them all the time!!! Respectfully, Astra Viil 🥰🙏

An air purifier helps and washing the fabrics in your house more often. When I’m at work and have to dust I try to wear a mask and I know the sneezy and itchy feeling 😩 maybe some sinus meds the day you dust to like Claritin or Benadryl

In regards to your daughter having an issue with putting dirty clothes in the basket... I am so sorry to tell you this but they never will! My daughter is almost 19 and never managed it. I tried everything a basket in her room, one right outside her room... Nothing. My motto is "do what works" so I came up with a solution: TDL (trash dishes laundry) in their rooms and their bathroom. Every night after my kids brush their teeth and before bed they collect any trash (because that never manages to get in the trash cans either), any dishes (water bottles etc) to the kitchen and any laundry (including clothes they don't wear, need thrown away, seasonal etc). The laundry goes on the floor in the laundry room. The next day I will do a load of needed. It didnt fix the issue at hand but solved the mess and the fact that if it isnt in the basket (or in the laundry room) it doesnt get washed. And like I said "do what works" and it does. Not to mention when its time to clean their rooms its mostly done because TDL takes care of the bulk.
