The amount the water pumps produce depends on the water purity - so increase the purity, the output goes up. It's quite a good mechanism. If you explore inland a little you'll find Cobalt mines which will let you upgrade your power to solar and basalt which will let you produce roads. They both help enormously.

The basic water purifier has a radius of roughly 50 miters so it's better to put it further out so it'll clean a larger amount of water overtime.

Z1 don't place the water purifier on the coast, put out as far into the water as possible. The water purifier has a radius for the area that it purifies so if you put it on the coast you will get at most 50% water purity because it can't reach the rest of the polluted water.

Suggestion: try the area fertilizer - it has a secondary effect that you will need. Not want, NEED. also, for best effect, put it as inland as possible.

First thing I build was actually a 4 by 4 room and placed several of those grower pots in, thought I will need it for food but good thing I did that cause saved me the waiting for first rubber. Placing foundations is sooo much easier with the drone btw.

The more green you make an area the less you'll have to worry about oxygen while in that area.

To my understanding power is not global rather each building that supplies power has a radius of roughly 50 miter. But they can be daisy chained together over long distances to link the networks. Also warehouses do seem to be global so it's wise to build a lot of them overtime to store pretty much every resource and production part. The item stack size increase from tier 2 warehouses has a max of 3 levels bring total stack sizes to 50 for both stored items and those in your inventory.

Do not bother with this base!!!! You will craft a battery for your ship and then fly away to find a better place for a base! So focus on doing the story missions, to get that battery!
