Nice. I could have saved lots of time watching this. Ended up finding the same access spots after taking off the whole dash and investigating all ducting. 1st Gen Sienna use the evap core as the cabin air filter. 😂. But at least they put the blower motor resistor in the perfect spot for cleaning debris. Thanks for the video!

Where did you get the clean air duct freshener? autozone has .. a/c pro duct cleaner. I also have a 99 toyota sienna that just started to smell in the a/c. Where was the blower underneath the glove box on the passenger side? was it hard to get to and was it necessary to get it all clean? thanks. You did not spray very much in the fan. I would have sprayed a lot with the fan motor running. I will do that with mine.

You can get it from Amazon or eBay. Without cleaning, just spraying would be like spraying on toilet. It won't help much. Spray will eliminate the bad smell, but if you have a lot of leaves, they will start rote every time when humidity is up. I didn't spray too much, when cleaned the source of smell.

@@SergSpace How many fans are in there? I have the one from the outside that you showed. How is there room for another one on the inside? I sprayed mine this evening with mold and mildew cleaner. I have no leaves or dirt in mine in south florida. It was all clean under there. Where was the blower underneath the glove box on the passenger side? Was it the same fan that is on the outside? thanks.

@@JohnSmith-uy7sv This is the same fan, which brings air from outside. Our Sienna models don't have cabin filter, so, whatever comes from outside goes inside, nothing stopping it. In my case the air path, which goes through thermal relay was stuffed with leaves and dirt and smelled every time when I leave my car overnight next to creek. I believe I showed this relay location in this video. I didn't show on video, but I removed the blower (unscrewed from under glove compartment) , disattached fan from it and cleaned every fin with WD40 and then with soap. The smell didn't go away. It's gone only when I cleaned airpath, when I pulled thermal relay (4:01) inside of cabin, on the left under glove compartment.

@@SergSpace Thanks sergspace. Glad I know there is only 1 fan under there that is the same one on the outside flapper. I will see tomorrow if the mold and mildew killer did it's job. If not I will have to spray bleach into the fan motor and close the flapper and blow it through the air system. Bleach kills and cleans everything too. :-) Thanks.

@@JohnSmith-uy7sv Don't bleach it. First you may damage the motor, second it will make plastic fan fragile. Pull the cover, clean air path as I showed on this video. Cleaning the way you want with bleach will be the same as you would come to restroom sprayed bleach in the air and close the door. It will fill the air with chlorine, which is harmful for lungs but won't solve the problem. We have to roll out sleeves and do the hard job (which is not to hard, actually) to reach the goal. By the way, my car doesn't have that rotten smell anymore since then. ☺️
