There is a reason why maple trees have always been tapped to make syrup more than others.

Could it be how dense the 'forest' is that's causing some trees to produce more than others? Hmmm...it's interesting and I'm curious to see what you discover. Also, that cat loves to help you with syrup, maybe call her Mrs. Butterworth. 😂

The problem is that there's a couple walnuts on that same fence line as the good trees, and they produce about the same as the forested ones...... Okay, you might have a winning name there. I laughed way too hard at that one. 🤣

Is it normal for the lines to need cleaning, idk? Perhaps the walnuts by the crick have more competition from other trees for resources leading to less sap 🤷♂ Gray cat seems to be more attention seeking than Tigger...so perhaps 'snuggles' for a name 😁

Not sure. Don't know if it's a "walnut" thing to need it or just a fluke. Maybe, but there's two trees on that same fence line that barely produce in comparison....

@@LandisLegacyFarmOops, I forgot the other trees in that line...throw that theory out the window 😁

So there is money in using walnut for syrup? I guess I am just too old to know about this

Supposedly..... I'll find out when I try to sell it.
