Wonderful tutorial. Seeing this done in a video is a lot nicer than trying to make sure i got everything listed in the article.

On an average how often do you need to replace the print head?
@Glowforge2 жыл бұрын
Hi Steven! Your Glowforge printer head is not a consumable product so you should not need to replace your printer head. If your printer head becomes damaged for some reason, for example if you accidentally drop it while cleaning, we can offer a printer head as a spare part replacement for purchase. -Ellen

The part that will eventually wear out is the laser tube, the source of the cutting power. Depending on the power level you use, I have heard it should be good for about 500 hours of cutting (idle time on does not count significantly). I have had my glowforge for 3+ years and use it daily and I can't detect any deterioration. Definitely clean your mirrors and lenses regularly, it makes a difference in the cutting power/speed.

I wipe my machine down every morning while my modem gets rebooted. It only takes a few min and keeps my machine looking great and I think it also keeps the wood smell down some. I wipe the cameras and lenses down about every other day. Have not tackled the crumb tray yet. I am wondering how Dawn Power wash will work on it.

Thank you, so much. I feel like a complete idiot, harsh, yes, but after several attempts at trying to use my wonderful machine, following all of your user-friendly, easy steps for cleaning, I found a large issue. I hope this is why my machine has not been able to do a single project. MY LASER LENS WAS NEVER INSTALLED INTO THE LASER HEAD. 🙈 It was still stuck to the tool. How I missed that, when assembling this, I haven’t a clue. This video is amazing, and I appreciate you, immensely. I shall try this again! 😆 Wish me luck, all. 🤞🏻😆🙏🏼 Tara

I see lots of videos about "deep cleaning"... is there anything else necessary other than what is shown in video? For instance, the fan?

Nick I do not have the tool!!! How can I clean the lens!?? Please help me!
@Glowforge2 жыл бұрын
Hi Monica! You can use anything that’s normally used for cleaning lenses - Could be glasses, cameras, or binoculars for example. We like the Zeiss wipes (there are other brands too) as the liquid evaporates completely and the material removes grime without scratching. If you buy anything with a spray, don’t spray it directly onto/into the Glowforge. Always try to spray it onto a cloth first! I hope this helps. -Bri
