Nice video! Thanks for the tips. I like the idea of the foil layers on the drip tray. Question, do you also foil the drip bucket? If you don’t, is it hard to clean the grease out of that? And is that something you do after every cook, or do you go a few cooks before that.

Steven Berger I use to but now they offer bucket liners, before that I just emptied out what I found and if it was really grimy I use dish soap and hot water and left it sit overnight.

Just got a Traeger. Thank you for sharing this. I sure plan to take your lesson and apply it to my grill. Can't wait to learn how to grill and find a way to reduce the costs for my Family's Meals. Thanks ...

Hey Carl, do you ever deep clean your smoker? Mine is starting to get a greasy buildup in the barrel from the drippings that miss the drop pan & the spattering while cooking. If there's an easier way than what I'm considering (disassembly & pressure wash), I'd like to know of any ideas beforehand. Just trying some preventative maintenance before a bigger problem arises...

TROY WILBURN the grill is more or less “seasoned” over time. Just knock off anything loose and vacuum it clean. If I think about it a will do another video, my grill know being about 7 years or so old. It’s got some rust now, as a result of leaving the winter insulation blanket on for too long. But for the most part all I do is clean out the fire pot and vacuum out the ash as in this video.

Carl Slaughter - gotcha. Wasn’t sure if I should just leave it alone & let the flavor build up like in a wood smoker. Thanks.

TROY WILBURN for cooks that create a good deal of residue after I am done I will crank up the temp all the way and let it bake for about an hour.

Glow plug (Hot Rod) protrudes too far into burn pot. 1/8"-1/4" per Traeger. But I'm guessing yours is working OK, so who knows.

Rocky Barrett I have replaced the glow rod twice the first two were way to long they apparently got it right the third time lol

1 MINUTE OF CONTENT SPACED OVER 7... COULD HAVE JUST SAID VACUUM THE ASHES....

Tom Hoffman then the content was obviously not meant for you lol

I think it's ridiculous that it's the ONLY thing you use the shop vac for. BTW, everyone watching is NOT seeing the ASH blow straight out the exhaust port. It is really bad. I've only done it once and I'll never do it again. Lately, why did he have cig butts in the ash tray?! It's not even accessible.
@CarlitosCustoms7 жыл бұрын
Hockeylicious how do you figure? You want me to post another video? I use this method all the time and yes it’s the only think I use this vac for. And it has a paper filet that does not allow the ash come out of the back of he vac. Obviously your a serious critic 😜

Hockeylicious what are you speaking of? “Cigarette butts in the ash tray?” You obviously know nothing about pellet grills or wood pellets these grills use lol

My bad Carl, the pellets looked like cigarette butts. You did a good job on the video overall. By the tone of the rest of the comments, it served it's educational purpose. Question for you...how often do you clean out the ash, like after how many uses?
