I have a question. If my landlord won’t replace my carpet that’s 60yrs old, I have a cat, and the sweeper I have is a bissell pro heat 2x pet. It shoots water n sucks up. But it doesn’t even touch how bad this carpet is. Any advice? It’s one room which is my bedroom.

I havent personally used the Bissel thing, but I see it's a expensive equipment so it should work, at least on a moderately soiled carpet. If your carpet is in worse condition it might need more thorough washing in a deep water bath, which is the method we use. Maybe just roll up the owner's carpet, put it in the basement and buy a new one from Ikea? :) I wouldn't risk washing someone else's carpet, it may get damaged in the wash and that will be a problem.
