The first week of sales in 2025 in China are already out and Tesla is starting the year in a deep hole, down 70.43% from the prior week. To give you an idea of just how bad that is, they were outsold in China by XPeng during the week. Your last chart where you showed sales outside China is misleading in that it is being heavily distorted by the effects of tariffs. Yes, China might be its own thing, but it's an open market, all companies compete there and therefore it's far more reflective of the strength of various manufacturers. The US is the worst case of showing this. Rivian or Lucid wouldn't last a week in China.

BYD made Hybrids cheaper that pushed sales. I think this is two fold.... 1. They are transitioning from Blade battery 1:0 to 2:0 on pure EVs. The old stock of 1:0 batteries is good enough for hybrids and can fill battery needs of many more hybrids due to small battery requirements. 2. BYD are building 6 plants outside of China and they need some transition time and hybrids gives them that.

Nio sold 221,970 EVs in 2024, which would place it in 18th on your chart. Its missing from your charts altogether.
