If you have an old car, why not clean it your way, that it works, you can do this every month. I have watch the other videos, where they use lot of products and procedures, the cheapest its $15 dollars, if your car is new new, of course go for it, but my car is old, I like the orance and baking soda, method, I guess the more you clean an polish the more oxide you can take out.

I'm gonna do this to my car today and i'm estimating it'll stay decent for about 3 or 4 months. That's about how long it lasted last time i did a de-fogging. Only, last time i used super fine grit sandpaper and a constant stream of water. I would also assume the age of the plastic affects how quickly it fades. My car's a 2006.

It's been 11 months since you posted this hack. How has your headlight held up? Has any of the fogginess returned?

I would say this is more of a temporary fix. The professional and proper way to do it is to sand it.

@@CleanWithConfidence I kind of figured it was a temporary fix. But, I am wondering if maybe after fixing at your way or sanding, if maybe the headlight could be covered somehow like with auto wax or maybe a clear coat of spray lacquer it would make it more permanent?,

@@CleanWithConfidence I mean how long do the headlights stay clear? You can just rub in WD-40 to make the lights clear. It doesn't last that long but it just takes a few seconds.

Might be something to research, although personally I dont think it will be on the paint long enough to do any damage since we rinse it off pretty fast.
