Super grateful that you shared toilet bowl cleaner idea. Beats anything I've tried included store bought cleaners. I had 2 options available, Clorox and Lysol, until I found my wife's stash of a 4 pack of Lysol. The Lysol is a dark blue, Clorox very light green. As I used each in a different part of the kitchen, I could see the Lysol turning darker. The Clorox seemed unchanged. The Lysol was in a heavy traffic area but both were dirty. I can really see this difference today after complete drying. So for me the Lysol is the way to go. One application is all it takes. I assume you can let it work as long as it doesn't dry, which appears would be a long time. Brushing is necessary. Found a long handle brush, at Lowes I think, white handle. I use the carpet cleaner and a mop to rinse. Ear muffs are a must. Thanks again.

I used baking soda, peroxide and dawn liquid soap. It works extremely well but leaves a gritty floor from Baking soda that needs mopping with clear water. I think grout gets dirty from mop water that gets trapped in the groves. I really would like to get on my knees to clean but I no longer can.

Hi, can you post a video about cleaning tiles in the shower? I figure these methods won't work well cause of gravity pulling the concoctions down. My shower walls are tiled and I am having the hardest time cleaning them, unfortunately :(
@OgdenM Жыл бұрын
Sadly, if it's mold in the grout; it's a lost cause. The mold is so deep in the grout you can't actually clean it. You can clean the surface but it's gonna grow right back out. But, 99% of cleaning is really just the manual action of scrubbing. You don't need any strong chemicals, just dish soap and water and a brush. All though, bleach WILL turn the previously white tile grout back to white..... temporarily until the mold grows out again.
@marydavis3764 Жыл бұрын
You need a fan to keep the air moving so the mold won’t come back.

Next time try using a sponge instead of a brush, the grout has microscopic pores that you're filling in with the gunk you're scrubbing, a sponge scrubs and sucks up what you're scrubbing out 🤩

@@dianakuhndel7442 , yeap. Only buy/use washable liners and curtains; avoid the cheap plastic stuff. Wash them every two weeks at best and monthly at the worst. Always pull them closed to dry after you shower. If mold or mildew starts to show, wash it more often. Typing this I think is gonna get me to suggest that all my cleaning clients with the cheap plastic curtains replace them with washable ones. Some of my clients have pink mildew growing on the cheap plastic ones that I'm sick of cleaning. You really don't need the cheap plastic sheet stuff. Washable shower curtain liners do a great job of stopping water from getting out of the tub unless you spray water RIGHT AT them for like a foot away.
