This is Clear Lake, California. One of the top Bass fishing lakes in the world.they even have a Bass Master champion tournament. You can camp at the state park. Just look up clear lake state park, California. You can rent boats or bank fish around the lake. The "big" town there is called Lakeport,Ca. but it's a small town place

When buzzbaits and spinnerbaits helicopter in the wind it's because of the skirt. Take the skirts off superglue a grub or small swim bait on the hook. Will cast allot earier and farther plus it looks better

I was hoping for your input on throwing the big swimbaits (Huddleston). I was shopping for for a combo Inshore/heavy swimbait rod and found the AbuGarcia Volatile rod heavy, and was going to put a Abu NaCl baitcast 6.4:1 reel with Power Pro slik 50lb. Do you think this would work both applications for me. Thanks for any suggestions you may have. Take Care
@redsballer19048 жыл бұрын
That will work but go with mono or copolymer instead of braid

What type of lure would you recommend out here in the San Joaquin area (from Ladds to the port of stockton? Ive used top water frogs to Rapala crank baits an senko's or power bait worms, with very little action. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
@InformativeFisherman10 жыл бұрын
It's not the bait so much as location and tides. You can catch them on everything you just said. What areas are you fishing?

Hey guys I have a question, I have heard people say you shouldn't hold them by the jaw if they are larger fish?
@InformativeFisherman10 жыл бұрын
I would say over 8lbs its not the best of ideas.
@TheBushwooky10 жыл бұрын
***** Alright thanks.
@theunluckyfisherman484510 жыл бұрын
the worst way to hold any bass is by the jaw on an angle (see 6:29 ). That can leave their jaw out of place. you can hold bass of any size by the jaw just make sure you support them under the stomach, the same way people hold muskie or larger pike.
@Hellbringerspvp10 жыл бұрын
What about letting them flop around and rub off the slime coat?

Whats a good wait bait for bass?
@InformativeFisherman10 жыл бұрын
Any bait makes a good wait bait as long as you hold off on tying it on ;) For wakebaits you have swimbaits or crankbait styles, I honestly like the Jackall Mickeys or floating swimbaits like Huddlestons

I'm constantly amazed when I see these "experts" that throw these fish on the carpet. There's plenty of resource's out there, that's a horrible practice. Try and protect the resource!

This was a really great video. I've always been a big walking bait guy too (super spook), but this double buzzer / horny toad thing really has the wheels turning in my mind. I fish natural lakes in Minnesota and North Dakota with really clear water and grass. Any color suggestions? Thinking about getting a "Tilapia" colored double hammer with the gold blades and using a watermelon horny toad with it when it's sunny, and an "Okeechobee Craw" color with the black blades and a black horny toad for when it's cloudy.
@jcl65110 жыл бұрын
Yo, don't let the bass flop around on the deck like that. It can damage their slime coat, leaving them susceptible to infection and injury. Otherwise, great vid!
