Hey Ross! Thanks for the reports. Super helpful. My buddy and I drove up from socal and fished the 11th and 12th. We did pretty well, caught 23 lbs each day. Fished all over the lake. I love this place. Keep up the great reports!

I have a place in Nice and I was seeing 6’ of visibility on Wednesday and Thursday. Also saw some cruisers who were scouting out bedding locations amoungst the tules. Had a couple of 4/5 pounders that were protecting a few areas in a pre-spawn.

Thanks for your report Gavin. Saw some of the same yesterday.

How is Rodman Slough looking? We're headed to Clear Lake tomorrow to do some kayak fishing and that's usually where we start. Haven't done well at all the last couple of years so I'm really hoping for a bite this year.

Good morning Ross ,thanks for the report,I was planning on come up the weekend, but weather doesn’t look good 😞,where could one find info on boat restrictions, regarding speed limits on the lake , have a great day my friend ,
@clearlakeguideservice2509Ай бұрын
Thanks Rick. Now that the lake is under 8’ Rumsey there are no restrictions.

Ross, thanks for the report. For me it seems to be a little weird. Usually we are catching a bunch of big spawning crappie in the Keys and that hasn't happened yet. I also usually see spawning bass moving into the Keys by now and I haven't seen any yet. Maybe because of how much water we have but it surely isn't like it usually is this time of year. I really appreciate all that you do with reports.
@clearlakeguideservice2509Ай бұрын
Thanks Patrick. In 5 days of fishing since posting last weeks report I have not seen one crappie boat. That covers two arms.
@hyssean12Ай бұрын
Caught a 5 and 7lbs way up Adobe creek yesterday on a kayak was awesome!! Caught them on a small swim bait with 8lb test lol.
@clearlakeguideservice2509Ай бұрын
Nice!…that would be a handful!

@@clearlakeguideservice2509 went back today and nothing. A bunch of blackfish up there today.

Can u please do a crappie report. In the near future I want to make a trip up there in May. Thanks ross.
@clearlakeguideservice2509Ай бұрын
All I can report so far is a few fish shallow and not very many people fishing for them.

A 12lber was caught during the kayak tournament last week
@DanxiongАй бұрын
It was a tough day. 98 out of 210 skunked 35 caught 1 Only first place caught 10, everyone else caught 8 or less.
@clearlakeguideservice2509Ай бұрын
There are some big ones out there for sure!
@clearlakeguideservice2509Ай бұрын
@@Danxiong thank you for adding the stats Dan, much appreciated. The overall size of the fish being caught belies the fact that we are missing two years of small ones.
@razerginnАй бұрын
too bad all these tournaments take spawning bass away from their beds. It screws up the bass reproductive cycle. I don't care about that Bass sPONSORED study showed. Everything gets corrupted by money and greedy people, even fishing.
@clearlakeguideservice2509Ай бұрын
There are a number of polarizing issues in bass fishing for sure, some have been around for ages, some are new, and I’m sure there is more to come. I for one love to sight fish, think it’s the most exciting ( topwater a close second) way to catch a fish. It has been years, maybe a decade since we put a fish in the live well and hauled it away from where it was caught. From an observational point of view if the fishing pressure was that damaging to the fishery Clear Lake would have crashed a long time ago. While the spring time fishing pressure is heavy it is nothing compared to the carp and sunfish population that prey on fish nesting. But you are among a group of folks who oppose it and you are entitled to your view. Thanks for checking in.
