You are absolutely right. To learn English speech pronunciation is much more harder than English grammar. I realized long ago that first what I should do is listening.

I've never seen a video teaching like this ever....this is SO VERY HELPFUL in understanding those American native speakers! It's EXPLAINED A LOT in just few minutes and the LEARNING RETENTION of the listener is lasting because this is WELL-EXPLAINED! This is VERY MUCH DETAILED to be applied in American speaking and listening! That is why some people don't understand Standard American English because most videos are NOT EXPLAINED WELL! Thanks a lot maam Keenyn for the tips!

Well as a matter of fact Keenyn, there is something I would like to clarify which is when I was 16 years old,I used to watch cowboy movies in which the actors and actresses were speaking in the same accent you do in this video.So no problem at all faced me while you were explaining this topic in this video.I really liked so much.Besides you are the one whom I was looking for along time ago and now I am finding you it´s so wonderful with me to constantly watch your videos.I´m from the north of the Sudan.

Hi Keenyn. Thank you for the wonderful lesson. Theoretically, what you taught /cha/ and /cher/, but when I heard it slightly sounds /chuju/ and /chjur/ also I could saw your Lips were in the position of the /u:/ sound. I don't you whether I right or not. Anybody hears like me? 2:45 and 3:08

@alishapanwarsfan5908 4 жыл бұрын
I heard the same
@dontconfusetheboy
@dontconfusetheboy 4 жыл бұрын
I know you will find both variations in the USA. You are correct that she pronounced a /u:/ in some of the examples (not all) and she says, "very often you will hear" with the "cha". It is extremely common to hear the "cha", but both are correct in American spoken English. It depends on region, education, formality of the situation, etc.
@festwa1
@festwa1 4 жыл бұрын
I heard similarly. So to say loud, e.g. cha I am replacing it with 'chu' and the rest connect with the 'u' sound.

Very well explained. You showed the outcome of a rule, then disassembled the result into its chunks, did the same with each of the parts where necessary, and then, starting with the "clean" bits and after making sure the rules are understood, reassembled the chunks into the original term. Great. Edit: I'm from Germany, If you spot any mistakes im my text, please do not hesitate to let me know.

How do I get scholars from writing what they hear to acturally write what should be saying? If I use this video would it validate their writing "gotcha" instead of "got you"? Or will it separate what they say and hear should not connect to what they write? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
