Another great video again. Thanks. Quick question, at 1.30 of video you said the new Facebook ad did not convert I guess. What do you mean of covert? Base on dictionary discription didnt make sense! Thanks for your time.
@ClearEnglishCorner
@ClearEnglishCorner 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much salar hz! So glad you enjoyed the lesson! 😊 Great question about "convert." I love how you're listening and researching! In online advertising, an ad is said to "convert" when it results in a click through- or someone clicks on the add to learn more/sign up/purchase, etc. If an ad is not converting well, it often needs to be redesigned or the target market (audience) reconsidered. I hope this helps!

You are most welcome Gifford Machirus! 😊 Have you seen my lesson or pronouncing "girl" and "world?" While not exactly the same as "Karl" I talk directly about that ER to Dark L transition: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pGWqc5Wvd9are9E
@gifstar
@gifstar 5 жыл бұрын
@@ClearEnglishCorner For me, I have no problem going from 'er' to l as in girl and world, but I have more difficulty going for the r-colored 'ar' to L in that particular name. I have trouble with the ar in general. I tend to tense up to much and can't relax enough gliding from the a into the r and then the dark L.

I understand. It's can be challenging to transition phrases like this to active vocabulary if you don't have a chance to actively practice them. It can be helpful to pick one or two that would be useful to you in your conversations and practice saying them just to yourself, using sentences that your would say at work. I will always encourage you to talk to yourself, out loud! It's the best way to practice! 😊

The phrases Back to square one and back to drawing board don't have the same meaning? Thanks
@ClearEnglishCorner
@ClearEnglishCorner 5 жыл бұрын
Great observation- they do, essentially. "Back to the drawing board" is typically used when you need to develop a new, step-by-step plan. It comes from the concept of architectural drawing boards, where blueprints or drawings for initial designs are created.
